In the original everyone in oz had an earth counterpart except for glinda in this movie they gave her one: glindas earth counterpart is Dorothy's mom

Oh really how did you come up with that because you didn't come up with that I actually did and you're freaking accepted else original book it doesn't say or mention Dorothy having parents and it also doesn't mention or clearly states that auntie Em or Uncle Henry it's not blood related or adopted Dorothy could have been Farm help that was sent to the farm

I like the idea of Glinda looking like Annie (Dorothy Gale's future mother). If "The Wizard of Oz" were changed a bit to match the events of this film, imagine how Dorothy would've reacted instead with meeting Glinda for the first time. She would think it's really her mother and that she and Toto are in Heaven instead before Glinda tells her she's in Oz. In addition, it would've been interesting to see Oscar's reaction when he finds out that Dorothy is Annie's daughter.

I'm almost upset that this didn't happen lmao. It almost feels like a mistake since every other character in the originals opening is a major character in Oz. But if we're being fair, the plot of the original is odd enough that I'm not entirely surprised a deeper connection like this doesn't exist.

In the original books, she's the witch of the south. In the 1939 movie she was the witch of the north. And here she's the witch of the south. She's technically the witch of the south, but the 1939 version for whatever reason changed it.
