I’m actually happy they did that, and I’m all for adaptions allowing time to pass so the characters’ ages make sense. Cause SO many movie series or show adaptions don’t do this and it’s so awkward when the kids have aged 4-5 whole years years and it’s supposed to be like semester 2.

Would they even look any different within a year? The fact they announced that they’ll do seasons 2 and 3 makes it sound like they’ll do them back to back

Given how much they went into detail of the original sozins comet and how brutal the show has been. They are either going to do the airship fleet but on a massive scale and actually burn villages and cities, or they do something entirely different (hopefully its not a cliche villanous plot like "well melt the ice caps" or "doomsday device". Needs to be brutal and hard to stop

Comets become visible because the sun begins to warm them, causing chunks to come off and become those long tails we see. So the tails are made almost entirely out of ice, with maybe a mineral or two mixed in here and there. These can be seen as recurring objects every so often, where as anything that gets close enough to burn in our atmosphere will only do so once. Sometimes they burn up before they hit the ground, sometimes they make a quaint little crater, and sometimes they wipe out the dinosaurs. Now, technically, a comet could get that close, but...again, it'll pretty much only do so once. There's a lot more nuance involved, but that's the jist of it.

I can almost justify the unlimited fire if I make enough assumptions about this universe, and there's a spirit world, and the animals are the source of elemental bending. But nobody in the universe will shut up about how much the researched and based the magic system on real world science. Water bending having to do with the moon because tides, etc... So yeah. I call out comets being made out of fire.

The earth nation invasion only happened after Long Feng was overthrown, and Azula went into the Kingdom disguised as Kyoshi Warrior They're showing the eclipse here, not the invasion. By this point the Earth Kingdom itself hasn't even decided on attacking the Fire Nation
