In my opinion, the pass that pierces through 3 to 4 defenders that eventuates to goal is far more entertaining and satisfying than the goal finish. He is an artist.

@@sirajumkd9011 playmaker's job is to 'make plays' (duh) or trigger a play. Players like messi, iniesta, modric, hazard are playmakers. They usually plays on the half space. Ozil's job mainly as a wall pass, the one that 'connect' all these plays. Rarely dribble, but always available for 'give n go'. His superior vision and passing technique is a bonus.

@@rgoutyidjhkdhgnr play makers literally means to make a play, delivering a perfect pass is making a play, it’s quite simple, his also quite a good dribbler and is known for playing one twos, like that goal he scored against liverpool which lacazette assisted.

@@TheBylineBureau if just delivering a pass makes u a playmaker, then all the players on the field are playmakers. And also, i didnt say ozil can't dribble. I said he "rarely" dribble, because it is not his primary job to do. But ofc he had the talent to dribble if he want it to.

Dude bagged 19 assists in 15-16 season while playing with giroud, walcott, iwobi etc, the only other top class player was alexis.. Extremely outrageous stuff

Not outrageous, Giroud is arguably the most underappreciated striker of this generation, although he did had a bad run of form when Arsenal needed it. Also Walcott was a decent finisher

Genuinely the best weight on his passes I’ve ever seen, and best vision of any player I’ve seen play also. Cherry on top that his actual passing ability is pin point as well. Always right in his target’s path and breaks lines with genuine ease, and breaks the lines that no one in the stadium could ever see but him. Going to be a long time before we see another player of his caliber and unique ability.

In my 28years of life, 18 of which I have watched lots of football, I've seen world class passers, artists, maestros...but not a single player with the kind of vision of Ozil. His vision is a class above the rest, not only the way he disguises his passes but he simply is a chance creating machine.

There are many good Turkish playmakers, but Ozil is unique because his passes are perfectly timed. Other Turkish players have a good vision but they don't time their passes right, they pass too quickly and too soon. They are obsessed with quick pass and 1-touch football, they usually don't stop and hold the ball for a moment while the striker makes the run. They just pass immediately. Quick thinking but bad timing. This is what makes Ozil special, timing is everything.

I think the strikers in this clip miss the goal because they never believed in their wildest dream that the pass will come through. So, the ball meets them "awestruck" and unprepared.
