I picked up the T8 after your second video showing that it was modular. Got it on Friday. The vacuuming performance on it seems great. Out of the box upgraded firmware from 1.4.5 to 1.4.8. it looks like they tweaked the brush speed or I just can't tell from your video and what I see. The app still not available in the Play store but still in iTunes. I'm still testing it out and still robot proofing my house as this is my first robot vacuum. Overall though I am happy. The camera is doing well with the shoes cables and socks that get left around and how fast and far the laser reached was impressive.

Another great video Nathan. Thanks. My first robot in 2009 was a Roomba and I've had iRobot stuff ever since. I currently have a Roomba i7+ and I'm hooked on the self emptying bin, I couldn't go back to not having that feature for my main mostly-carpet home, but the i7+ VSLAM navigation is not great in my 4 bedroom single level apartments - maybe my home is a bit too big & complicated for it. I now also have a recently purchased RoboRock s5 for my mostly hard floor holiday home and it's really bought home to me how much better Lidar navigation seems to be vs VSLAM. I also love the way that the Roborock does real time updates during a cleaning run to show a trace of exactly where it's been and where it is at the moment and then shows the full track in the cleaning history. I'm sorry iRobot, I have had a long history with you and have a lot of affection for the brand, and I can easily believe that the patented extra wide dual-roller cleaning head on the s9 is probably the best in the industry at getting dirt out of carpets (which is important to me), but unless you stop being so stubborn and refusing to add Lidar navigation to your flagship models then my next robot is almost certainly going to be something like a Proscenic or by the looks of this probably more likely a Deebot T8 once the self-emptying bin is available in Europe and assuming it works well. I'd still pay a fair bit more than the current s9 price for an s10 if that had all the goodies (VSLAM, Lidar and front-facing-camera AI) if that gave it flawless navigation together with s9 quality cleaning head and self-emptying bin but if that doesn't come along pretty soon then this year might mark the end of my run with iRobot.

It’s so easy to use🌼 just make sure it’s charged, push the auto button and it will clean the room. You can use the app, connect it to your WiFi and program the robot to run at a certain time.

hey, sorry if I bother you. but I really dont understand the situation about the roomba s9 plus. how it work today with the last firmware update? how roomba do (with last firmware) the learning session?still be like a bulldozer and still destroy most of your furniture? Can roomba do and finish(and use) a smart map or get it stuck and cant complete it (even after few session)? can you be able to use all the feature the robot have, just like you do if you have a i7?can s9 finish all the session it start (or the robot stuck most of the session)?can it go and clean only a room (or two) without any problem?(all this question in pratically, not theorically) its not clear how this robot work with last update. if I look on amazon review, magazine online review, youtube ecc. all of this still be not updated. and this is the one of the best model on the market (specially for pet hair and for pet owner due to self empty and vacuum power).but i think there is a lack of update info about it. and cause the initially (many many) problem of this robot i think this lack is a real s***. since in europe it cost 1500 Euro (1630$) I want to understand well how it work, before buy it. I didn't like them--the dry pad has no depth so if it picks up a chunk of something, like dry cat food, then it pushes it around or drags it around the floor. Hi I am planning to buy ozmo t8. Requirement is for hard floor tiles (no pets)and their are 2 floors in the house. Mopping is also needed and 1 floor is covered with furniture so it should be good in navigation as well. Will t8 will work in uae and india? If not why? So for people with pets who have an occasional accident still don’t have a vacuum robot they can count on to not smear poop everywhere. At lest that’s what it looks like.

They need a moping mat that can scrub not just absorb. None of these are able to reverse brushes to spit it out, guess irobot owns that tech

Roborock t7 ? Where to buy? In the moon?

The T8 is significantly better than this (T8 AIVI). Although having a camera and machine learning vision is of great promise, it requires a highly dedicated company and constant upgrades be of use in real world. For instance, since it's launch (almost 8 months), no new categories of things it detects has been added. The T8 on the other hand uses a highly accurate tDoF and will always pick up even the small items in front.. no update needed. Lastly the vision sensing adds latency.. meaning in real world, it will be slower at reacting and acting to obstacles.. all adding to many many hours wasted performing inference and route playing when T8 AIVI sees an obstacle.

it may not seem like a big deal when its a cable, but wait till that roborock smears dog poop all over your floor
