I purchased my first Bunker XL in 2018, it came out of the box with broken zippers and a heavily stained mattress, so I returned it. In 2020 I bit the bullet again and purchased a Bunker Pro XL, which started to have issues on the first trip, with seams ripping due to insufficient fabric. Getting a replacement turned out to be quite difficult. After 8 months, I received a replacement, but that one failed with a riveting nut falling out after 3 days. I'm now on my 4th Bunker Pro and so far it lasted a full trip. Here are my experiences with the Bunker Pro and some comparisons vs Oztrail Easy Fold Stretcher Tent.

i still use it, if you get one which lasts (my latest one has) while not perfect still one of the better stretchers on the market (between the few available) if you need something half way water 💧 proofed

Hey, I have a HZJ105R. She's doing well apart from the front axle housing that keeps on bending. Purchased a Bunker on pre-order as a proto-type nearly a decade ago. Mine is still going strong apart from some midge screen tears. Spent months in it. Needs re-proofing now. Thanks for your review on the new versions. Mine looks more simpler in design. You are tall so that may make a difference. Thanks.

Thanks for the great review. We have an Oztent dealer in the States but they want over $600 USD for the Bunker Pro. Really wanted one but saw the Oztrail on the U.S. eBay for less than half including shipping. Based on your review I took a chance on it and just received it. I don't want to chance paying that much for the Oztent with apparently that many quality control issues. If the Oztrail doesn't work out think I'll get the Darche Airvolution swag and a cot that fits it. Really like the ease of use of the Australian gear.

It is amazing how many products suffer from bad design. I have always said that the people who design things need to be made to actually use what they design before it goes into production. At least then we would have half a chance of getting products that aren't a pain to use.

Sadly yes, I'm often flabbergasted as it would not be that difficult to make a product 90% perfect instead of 60%

Most likely catalog Asian parts and nobody ever tests them or improves the design and calls it their own. No tears shed for companies who don't innovate/improve the design when you can buy the exact "same" item from another company for much cheaper.

Great review,I think with those flys have to season it few times to get it water tight had to do that to my kamprite tent cot,look forward to a easy fold review looking at get one,or the bunker as the kamprite only folds to a flat pack.

Would surprise me as only cotton-based flies and thread needs seasoning and that only applies to seams the OzTrail leaked through fly itself. I still have a double CampRite (done a review some time ago) and haven't used it in a long time, to be honest.

I've had both the oztrail and the jet bunker (original version). The oztrail as you said much lighter but useless in the rain. With the jetbunker I've been happy with it. I've had the same issue and and so have my mates with pop rivet/bolt coming out and just used bolts n nylocs to replace them. Mine had some holes in mozzie mesh when I bought it but they sent me a new replacement mesh. The bag didn't last long and ripped along the seam where handle is. I've since forked out for the drifta bag as oztent wouldn't sell a replacement bag. Overall it's the best sleeping solution I've used and I love it besides it faults. I've forked out for the new oztent mattress (stratus??) anyway the most expensive one and it's by far best mattress I've used and it really made a big difference to comfort like you said almost as good as bed at home.

I used Oztrail for years but have it usually under an awning if it rains. I take Oztent if space is no issue but otherwise Oztrail

I had the OzTent Bunker XL but got rid of it after only using it a handful of times. The main issue for me was waking up with a wet sleeping bag. I have a video of this under my profile.

This tent is almost identical to the Ozark Trail Cot Tent. I think both have some good features, but the biggest difference I see is the material, as this is more of a canvas tent. I have slept in the Ozark Trail and it is quite comfortable, however I have not tested it in rainy or windy conditions. Regarding the access you mentioned @9:52, this is where the ozark trail shines as the rain fly has better openings.

While we don't have the Ozark Tent here in Australia, it seems to be a copy of the Oztrail Stretcher Tent and Bunker Lite.

I have bought 2 dune tents from anaconda, One for me and one for my son and have had no issues if set up properly = tight guy ropes - They’re fantastic, light, easy to set up and easy to pack up. And best of all, you can take the fly off in the morning, pack the rest of your bedding up and pack the fly up later

I was seriously considering one of these until now, thank you. I'll stick with my swag on a stretcher for now. Is there any reason you did not consider a swag on a stretcher or was it just the space requirement?
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu Жыл бұрын
Space, don't want a big swag on the roof if I can avoid it and with two teenagers would be no space for 3 swags on roof.
@trickster8635
@trickster8635 Жыл бұрын
I have a swag on stretcher, but because the swag is narrower than the stretcher, any rain that flows off the swag will pool between base of swag and stretcher and eventually you end up lying on a saturated stretcher. You can tie another larger tarp over the swag and down past the outside of the stretcher, but to do that you may as well buy the oz-tent.

Have you considered using a swag on top of a camp stretcher?
@AlloffroadAu
@AlloffroadAu 10 ай бұрын
yes sure have, carrying a swag would not fit well in my solo packing set up (would need to be on roof rack) further increasing fuel consumption. Otherwise yes would be a good option

10:00 the Adrenal Glands attached to the kidneys, secrete a hormone, apart from adrenaline, which slows urine production in darkness. If you're getting up before darkness to pee, either you haven't emptied your bladder before going to bed or you need to see your GP and ask why you're peeing before dawn. Dr google says "It can be common for most people to wake up once during the night to urinate, but urinating more frequently may be a sign of something else going on" so I seem to be in the most common category especially as I drink quite a bit of water
