The Dallas Mavericks led wire-to-wire as they defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 146-111, in today’s matinee. Luka Doncic led Dallas with 32 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds (35th 30-PT game of year, which is second in league) as Kyrie Irving added 25 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. New additions for Dallas, Daniel Gafford (19 points, 9 rebounds) and P.J. Washington (14 points, 5 rebounds) had great debuts as well. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. That’s four wins in a row for Dallas as they move to 30-23 while the Thunder fall to 35-17.

Gafford is an ok rebounder. Below average defender. Great finisher around the rim though. He's been a top 10 FG% guy for a few years now.

@@jsnell126idk man, i wouldn't call him a below average defender. He is one of the best shot blockers in the league and also is great at contesting. Also you have to consider that he has been playing for bad teams his whole career up to this point. If he really plays like that, he's 100% an above average defender, if not more. And an okay rebounder? He's a solid defensive rebounder and a really good offensive rebounder. So overall i think it's a perfect fit for the Mavs...

Nah Luka gonna be hopefully averaging lower numbers, because he won't need to hard carry. Expecting any dude to average a damn near 40 point triple double on 38 minutes per games without any load management is insane. Mavs fans will love Gafford. He plays hard every game. When we got him on the Wizards back in 2021, we made a run and reached the Playoffs. He played very well with Westbrook. Now, he's paired with one of the best offensive players in the league. He's going to feast with Luka.

Dont listen to lot of pretender nba analyst that dallas made a wrong decision to exchange these guys for 1st round picks on trade deadline. 1st round picks are for rebuilding teams only, and luka is in mvp and... championship mode now, so you should support him the needed players now. Well Grant Williams was great at the start too so lets not jump to conclusions too early, I think that Gafford trade was a steal for sure, but I feel like we gave up too much for PJ Washington, but I hope he proves me wrong. Either way its a good couple of days to be a Mavs fan.

I dont think this is the year, but I see them going deep in the playoffs. I think next year Luka will get mvp and finals mvp when all players get healthy.
