Today, idk what you'd call her bc all her songs range from pop rock, (NOT bubblegum pop) yet she still has a lil edgy RnB in some songs infused with some definite rock. Then she also has some beautiful ballads. "I Don't Believe You" is my all-time favorite ballad of hers. 1st time I heard it, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Its just a beautiful song and video. Like I said in a previous comment- she's just CLASSIC. Whatever she sings is amazing! Hell she could sing the dictionary and people would buy it! Most unique voice since Janis Joplin & Stevie Nicks. She's just one of a kind for sure! Then to sing that well flying thru the air!! Freaking unbelievable!

Pink is SO underrated. She's had an incredible, long-lasting career. She can effortlessly do R&B, rock, pop, she's an amazing raw singer. I think when people go pop they end up losing some credibility and people don't want to remember how absolutely talented someone is. She's on my top 5 vocalists of this generation.

@@MJJSmoothCriminal actually, she initiated the change to a more pop/rock oriented sound which is what she wanted to do. The R&B is what her label was pushing her to sell. I don't believe she began writing until Missundaztood, which is the album that pretty much established her signature sound.

I wasn't trying to say she was exactly the Beyonce of that time but I was more referring to the fact that this was an image she was given rather than chosen herself, and back then I would never have thought that because she was as good, and in some cases better, than some of the pop/r'n'b artists of that time. And I agree with your point that she was better than to now, but then I see them as two different P!nks. I love Can't Take Me Home era but I can still appreciate and enjoy some of the later, rockier stuff she's done.

After Mizunderstood it did get a bit much, I agree, and Stupid Girls was a silly song, I hated it. I do like Funhouse (The album, not the song) and a few tracks post-Funhouse though. She's intense so I have to really be in the mood for that side of her.

P!nk said this was not an “era” She lived this life she sang in many Philly Gospels, clubs and concert halls anywhere she could be heard she sang this was her style but her record label didn’t want her to experiment with other music she grew up with like rock, pop etc..she was more than just and only r&b. She still loves it! She paid homage to her dance sequence in this video recently in her current video.

P!nk has been my childhood forever. Shes not underrated but she is not overrated. She always has a song that sticks out and i can feel and understand the lyrics. Not only that, but she's also amazing as a person and she is not like every other singer nowadays that sings about love, romance, sex and drugs. She called out George W Bush in her song "dear mr president" and has good confidence songs, "idgaf" songs, deep songs and everything else. Yes, her new album has a lot of songs about live but also about loss and might as well be calling out every narcissist in her song "hate me". She is lyricly gifted and her songs have deeper meanings than most people think or even imagine.

This song was sooo hot when I discovered this in 2003 on Channel V when they were promoting Pink's third album "Try This". I was so impressed with the R&B vibe she carried on this cut. I miss when she sang songs like this. I don't think we'll ever hear her droppin' poppin' RnB gems like this in her current career anytime soon. All we can do is resort back to her amazing debut album "Can't Take Me Home". I always said her voice suited good with R&B and she could've done both in balancing this stuff with her Rock/Pop stuff back then. She would've been an even bigger threat to the industry lol

I hope one day that she matures in her attitude towards her early RnB music. I can understand wanting to distance oneself from work that made one feel pigeonholed, but even so, people still really loved this. These tunes made people happy, and want to jam to. You make me sick seems to stem from a strong hatred towards someone that did something vile towards another person. I think the person would of had to have cheated, on someone that was faithful and loving. God feels the same way towards a person that hates Him. Spirituality is acknowledging earning the goodness of God to a higher extent than those that do not. God loves all.

I was 12 years old when this song came out in 2000. And her other song let’s get the party started released in 2001 I was 13 years old. Man dem days was the best ever for music. So many unique singers all with a different sound. Now rnb is non existent and it’s just pop music now with not many talent around.

Her early music is good, but it is so obvious how LaFace was marketing her as urban and an honorary black person. Good on her for eventually breaking free and doing what she wanted.

I was in middle school or 9th grade when her debut album came out and I fr thought she was a “passing” Black woman. I think I was a whole ass adult when I had to face the fact that she is white. Lol
