P.O.W.: Prisoners of War is a side-scrolling beat 'em up created for Arcades by SNK in 1988 and ported to the NES in 1989. You take control of the prisoner dressed in blue, a gentleman named Snake, as you break free of a prisoner-of-war camp you allowed yourself to be thrown into as you attempt to eliminate the leader of your enemy. Gameplay consists of 8-way movement and your attacks include punching and kicking enemy soldiers and using their knives and guns against them. Source: speeddemosarchive.com/POWPriso...

Yeah. It was a tough game. Even with the pseudo-Konami code (think it only gave 10 lives?). One of my favorites, for sure, though.

If you die to that second boss, he throws a grenade to where you re-spawn. You have no invincibility when you re-spawn, and grenades are one hit kills, and the timing of his grenade tosses are perfect. So one death to him is game over because he will chain kill you until you are out of lives.

Once the helicopter drops a little lower down, and then all it takes is two sprays from the gun to destroy it.

Congraturation! on your speed run! You have to love old video game localization errors :) Great game. I always thought it was one of the best looking NES games. It was hard to play if you didn't know the enemy patterns. Only thing I never liked about it was the poor side scroll. It would have been soo much nicer if when the game scrolled your character stayed in the middle of the screen. Still Great game and great run!
