Synopsis:
Paromita’s marriage with Sanaka’s son had failed. But a bind of friendship had grown between Paromita and her mother-in-law Sanaka in spite of the difference in their ages, backgrounds and temperaments. When Paromita’s little son Bablu dies, the tenuous thread that had held her marriage together until then snaps. Paromita and her husband decide to go their separate ways. Sanaka is heartbroken at the prospect of losing her only friend.
The film explores Sanaka’s loneliness and gradual decline in health after Paromita leaves the house in which she and Sanaka had lived together for almost twelve years. When Sanaka is very ill, Paromita who is by now remarried, comes back to the house, flouting convention, and nurses her friend at her deathbed. Their bond of friendship proves stronger than a sign on a dotted line.

এইটাই পরিচালিকার বার্তা দর্শক তথা সমাজের প্রতি ✌শাশুড়ি ও বৌমা দুজনেই দুর্যোধনের মতো না হয়ে কিছু কিছু দোষ, ভুল ত্যাগ করে তাহলে চিরন্তন শাশুড়ি-বৌমার সম্পর্কের সমস্যা থাকে না🤝।

'পারমিতার একদিন' দেখার পর থেকেই আমি ঋতুপর্ণা সেনগুপ্তের পারফরম্যান্স পচ্ছন্দ করতে শুরু করে ছিলাম, কেননা মনে হয়েছে ঐসময় বাংলায় যত অভিনেত্রী আছেন তার মধ্যে উনিই পারমিতার চরিত্রের জন্য একদমই পারফেক্ট, ঐ জায়গায় অন্য কাউকে কল্পনা করতে পারছিলাম না। একেবারে আলাদা মাত্রার সিনেমা। অপর্ণা সেনের কাজ খুব স্বচ্ছ চিন্তাভাবনার কাজ, তবে সোহিনী দুর্দান্ত পারফরম্যান্স করেছেন। এই সিনেমাটি বাংলা সিনেমার একটি মাইলস্টোন হয়ে থাকবে। কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই!!

ছবিটি একজন বাঙালি পরিচালকের একটি বাঙালি পরিবারের বিষয়ের উপর বানানো। আপনি নিজেও একজন বাঙালি ( আপনার নামটির কোন অর্থ আছে কি না আমার জানা নেই। যদি ওটি অর্থপূর্ণ বাংলা নাম না হয় তাহলে একটি বাঙালি নাম ব্যবহার করলে নাম ও পদবী র সামঞ্জস্য বজায় থাকে। কোয়েল মল্লিক, মুনমুন সেন, পাওলি দাম, রিয়া সেন, রাইমা সেন ইত্যাদি নামগুলি অনেক টা সুকুমার রায় সৃষ্ট হাঁস জারুর মতো লাগে। গৌতম ঘোষের দেখা ছবিতে সৌমিত্র চট্টোপাধ্যায় এর চরিত্র প্রশ্ন করে ছিল ইন্দ্রানী হালদারের চরিত্র কে, রিমা নামের মানে কি !!!!! ইন্দ্রানী হালদারের চরিত্র টি তাঁর গরিমা নামটিকে রিমা করে নিয়েছিল !!!!! নাম, পোশাক ও ভাষা একজন মানুষের পরিচয় ( আইডেন্টিটি) হয়ে ইংরেজিতে মন্তব্য করছেন কেন। এখানেও সেই সামঞ্জস্যের প্রশ্ন। আপনার মাধ্যমে যাঁরা ইংরেজিতে মন্তব্য করেছেন তাঁদের সকলকেই এই অনুরোধ করছি।

What an extraordinary film! This film portrays the female friendship! Aparna sen's character finds her bestfriend in Paromita and vice versa. Also shows how important it is for women to Support another fellow women. In the climax we see Paromita's mother in law being afraid of loosing her, hence she curses Paromita out of the sheer fear of loosing paromita, her best friend. What a wonderful film!

Thanks to the English subtitles I could watch the movie in spite of being a non Bengali. Good acting and a totally different concept. The bonding and the subsequent conflicts between the mother -in-law and daughter-in-law are so differently treated. Good movie worth watching.

7:58 - 8:42 😢 The very first touching scene. Made me remember my pishima. 😞 May her soul rest in peace. Nobody (except my mom) behaved well with her. My dad although took care of her when her legs became weak, she was on wheelchair and used to make me sit on her lap and took me for her so called wheelchair ride.

নিঃসঙ্গতা বড়ই ছোঁয়াচে,একবার ছোঁয়া লাগলে শুধু বেড়েই যায়! তাও এই জীবনে কিছু মানুষ এভাবেই আসে যাদের জন্য কোনো সম্পর্কের ই দরকার হয়না! শুধুই ভালোলাগা থাকে, আবার প্রকৃতির নিয়মে সবাই একদিন হাত ছেড়ে দেবে! এটাই বাস্তব নিজের সাথে চলার আনন্দ আলাদাই! মনে রাখার মত , ভালোলাগার মতো একটা ছবি! শুভেচ্ছা
