This 2014 Sienna comes to us after the customer had it elsewhere with no luck. At an initial glance, it looks like a pretty cut and dry rich condition but in all reality, it is so much more. Join us as we walk through the diagnosis step by step leading to the ultimate root cause of failure. Enjoy!!!

Do you have any videos on how to diagnose a vehicle that starts and runs but, has now power when the throttle is pressed. I found a video that an issue very similar was do to a bad MAF Sensor. Car starts and runs but, will die or stumble when pressing the throttle.

I have Civic 8th Generation 1.8L, my car's STFT always stays at - 10 , MAF reading 3.5 g/s, Revs 740 to 760, Engine load 32%, RTHR 1.96%, Inatke 4. 1 psi and coolant temp at 100 Celsius Vaccum 18.9 in/Hg (the mentioned readings are at idle). Every thing is stock/oem. No mods whatsoever. NO intake leaks, changed fuel injectors, cleaned throttle body with carb cleaner, done valve adjustment 0.008mm and 0.010mm, changed upstream and downstream o2 sensors (with used one) , changed MAF (with used one), PCV valve is working fine. What could be the cause for that high negative fuel trims? One thing i have noticed, if i remove the oil dip stick while engine running at idle, all of a sudden engine load comes to 22%, STFT to - 3.1% and MAF 2.1%. I dont have a professional scanner. I am using ELM327 and Torque Pro app to monitor my car behaviour. Your kind response will be highly appreciated. Regards

I would like to know what someone else did especially after they had it somewhere else and they could not fix it. I have countless times found that some aftermarket parts someone else threw at it made it worse. I wish people would price OE parts first before just going down to the Chineseium outlet.

BMW valvetronic and Nissan vvel engines actualy controle the amount of air entering the cylinder... If i understand the concept...
@GoTechTraining
@GoTechTraining 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Erikkirby1, thanks for watching! Right, there are multiple engines that can do it with varying valve lift or Infiniti's variable compression, or so on and so on. It's quite the rabbit hole to dive into. But it is possible, just not really on this specific engine. :) Mike Becker, Senior Instructor

@GoTechTraining
@GoTechTraining 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Alexander, thansk for watching! +7% is a little on the high end, not enough to set a code, but something is going on throwing it out of whack. My guess, if left unchecked, it will code in the near future. Mike Becker, Senior Instructor

Make sure to take a look at the maintence stuff too. Air filter, spark plugs, etc. They can slightly skew fuel trims. Mike Becker, Senior Instructor

@@GoTechTraining found some time for checks yesterday. Filter changed two months ago, spark plugs were changed 10k km ago. I have screwed them out and found white "frosty" deposits there. Cleaned. Also 2 and 3 spark plug wells were oil wet. And spark plugs isolators from that cylinders were brown near the nuts. Also, i have equalised spark gaps everywhere. Car started to react on throttle more aggressively, but ltft is the same.
@alexanderkalashnikov2067
@alexanderkalashnikov2067 3 жыл бұрын
Throttle position constant adaptation is 7 % on closed throttle valve. There was intermittent p0016 recorded. Seems like it caused that white deposits, because ignition was too early.

It's not door dings in your future. It's chips, graham crackers, M&M's, and Skittles in every nook & cranny around the car seats. Spilled chocolate milk and crayon in places you'd never believe the kids could draw on. Six years from now, you'll find that Nintendo DS game the kids lost five years earlier in a place that defies any rational thought. I'll leave the rest for you to discover on your own.
