Bee Cee your welcome. After a year mine messed up again. I changed more parts, made more videos, blew out gas lines... mine may be the gas tank now.

scoobyrogers I been adding octane booster to my fuel tank, so I can add regular gas instead of premium. I am hoping this wasn't the cause of the failure. Emissions Vent Solenoid Part was affordable though. $57 Canadian at Lord Co Auto Parts. I used a code reader I bought at a pawn shop, which read the check engine light code and cleared it after the repair. The fuel tank looked pretty accessible when I was under there. You may want to back your caddy up on ramps like I did. Way more room. I have changed a fuel sender on another vehicle in a fuel tank. Run your tank until almost dry. Make sure you use blocks of wood to not cause sparks when removing the snap ring on tank so you don't cause sparks. Or you have to use brass tools.

Bee Cee I have used Premium pretty much always, and still have this issue has happen. This is a major issue with all Escalades

Welcome. Make sure the lines get blown out. Otherwise, within a year, the cannister will be no good again.

@@weldernotmechanic8588 check my other videos. You remove the hose on the PVC valve in the engine bay. And the hose under the truck. Blow out both ways with an air compressor

What plug?? The electrical plug?? Check to see if you dislodge the electrical pins.. also see if you may have pulled them out of connection. Did you blow out the lines?? The charcoal gets lodged through the lines, and all needs to be blown out.

Exact message error you will get. Do these steps to help clear. That code it kicks is hard because it is the vapor canister, the hose that goes to the tank neck where the cap is, the valve in the engine bay and all hose in-between. Lastly can be the roll over flap inside th gas tank....THESE I all listed can cause the LOOSE CAP code and slow fueling issues.

You changed the line from gas tank all the way to top of the motor?? Did you clear the pvc valve on top of the motor? When cannister goes bad it sends black pellets through the line to the motor. I blew mine out with an air house front to rear, rear to front.. Do you have issues fueling?? Other issues include the flap inside the gas tank that keeps gas from spilling out on a roll over. I assume your has this as well. Lastly, gas cap may be the wrong cap as well. I have seen others change cap and still have issues.. saying cap is loose, throw codes, etc. They bought OEM cap and fixed the issue. It's a touchy system.

@@scoobyrogers the gas cap I bought was from advance auto..they pulled it from the back after knowing my model of vehicle..I didn't blow any lines out at the motor..I'd like to know which lines those would be..are they the same that goto purge valve?I'm also not sure about gas flap..idk how I would check that.

@@RonA215 yes, at the purge valve,little pvc thing, pops inside the motor. I beleive you see it once you pop of the Vortec plastic cover. If you pull it off and see black pellets, thats probably the problem. You would need to disconnect that line from there and under the rear of the truck at the Charcoal cannister I believe. Its one of the canisters, just look and see which goes to the front. Blow front to rear first, then back. Use enough pressure. My small compressor did good, but I took to a shop and their PSI was greater and really cleaned the lines. I took a vaccuum where the purge valve is to get any out of the motor. I would also go online and buy a legit real OEM gas cap. Advance even though say Cadillac, its still universal.

What's the name of that line from the purge valve to the tank?

@@chuckchuck1303 I am unsure of the name, sorry. I am unsure to how it runs from front to rear. I do know that plowing both ways is required. You will see the pellets fly out. I also did my best using a vacuum cleaner as well.

The hose coming from the Evap cannister to the elbow pvc pop out in the engine bay. It's best to start blowing front to rear, then rear to front pellets were liidged in there pretty good on mine, so after numerous attempts both ways, I still had pellets coming out.

@@scoobyrogers wow that's high i just got mine from the dealer for $28.50 a piece, bought 2 of them one for my wife's ext and one for my SUV escalade. I was suggesting those edits for future how to videos. i am familliar enough with the under side of these trucks that i recognized where you were by the little you did show but a newb to these trucks may not. that was the whole point of my comment , thanks though it was helpful for me still at least didn't mean to make that seem all negative

Yes it did. Typically you need to clear the lines. I did not. I had a recurring issue 6 months later. After clearing the lines and replacing parts again. The truck runs better.

Althahebah1 I have not changed mine yet, been to cold. I will advise if this fixes my issue. Changing this Solenoid fixed it for a while. Then it came back worse.

Althahebah1 check out my updated responses on here and my 2 new videos. The lines need blown out. I have to replace my Canister Vapor Solenoid again, it's a year old and had a year warranty, also the Canister Purge Solenoid.

rsanchez7111 possibly. I need to check this part again. My Escalade is now only taking about 1 gallon at a time before the pump shuts off. It was doing this before I replaced this piece. It cleared up for a while after replacing. Now it is so bad, I hate getting gas. My truck can not handle any kind of gas pressure while filling up, it gets to a point of shooting fuel back at me ... ugh

rsanchez7111 I have done extensive research... and replaced parts, blew out lines, etc. According to other, the fuel leaking on top of the Fuel tank/pump is possibly the fuel pump going and hoses not secured. Replacement is recommended. I have replaced my Vapor Canister and still have fueling issues. Coal pellets poured out. So I then disconnected the line to the engine and under the hood. Blew this out both ways and vacuumed it out numerous times. Still have the issue. I am replacing the Canister Vent Selonoid and the Caniste Purge Selonid (under the hood with green screw cap) , today. The Vent Selonoid was replaced a year ago and has a year warranty, I assume it's bad again. Lastly the Flap inside the tank on our trucks stick. People have disconnected the fill hose and stuck their fingers inside the tank and moved the Flap continuously to free it up. This will be my next item if these don't work. Repair shop replace gas tanks and lines and fix the problem, However most ate being charged almost $200 for a $28 part and 10 minutes of work. scoobyrogers outstanding. Thanks for all your great input. I did a quick search on google. Some one said that the whole fuel pump had to be replaced. The person said that the sending unit was bad. So they decided to go ahead and replaced the whole unit. And problem solved
