I use fine gauge jewelry wire. Those beads break like real stones but probably low grade quality that have been dyed. My general rule of thumb is to look at the bead hole. A gemstone usually has a crisp cut borehole. Whereas mass produced glass or acrylic beads have a smooth hole

These look like natural moss agate beads. Because each bead looks unique, I'm certain these are actual moss agate. If every bead looked identical then it would more likely be counterfeit, especially with moss agate. Moss agate is a variety of chalcedony with green mineral inclusions of chlorite or hornblende. The inclusions look like moss, thus the name.

Check them with fire. If there cold, it's normally natural. Thry have gotten really good at faking crystal jewerly with clay, plastic ect.

Immerse the beads in an alcohol solution for 1 hour or more If it's dyed you,can see the green colour comes off If you want to know if it's a real stone or not try to scratch the stone with steel knife If the knife scratched the ston that mean it's not natural Because agate in the Mohs scale (hardness scale) is 6.5 to 7 but the steel hardness is 5.5

Thin tigertail wire would work well for stringing these :)

Use strechy wire, memory wire or my favorite, wire used for gemstones. I test my stones with fire. I know it's silly, but if you see dyed, waxed, stabilized in your description, run. Lol. At least I do. And if your using wire for these beads, I highly recommend, use crimp beads and definitely wat h some videos and get the right tools for the job. Ps. Gorgeous beads you have there. They look like tree or moss agate beads but I could be wrong.

Did you find an effective way to tell? Were they real? I read that that rubbing them on your teeth is a test, as well as the shape itself, oblong is good. Don’t know much else

Wouldn’t the plastic ones melt when exposed to fire ?
