P938 has been my daily carry for 11 years. Love the gun! Although, about 6 months ago the pistol felt like it jumped up to a 20lb trigger pull. Armory took it and came back with a "known design flaw". Sig sent all springs and parts to fix for free. Still LOVE the P938

I carry a 938 almost every day while a close friend carries a 365. The 938 feels smaller because it's less blocky in almost every dimension, though, the 365 is a very small gun too. 365 has more capacity though with Kimber mags the 938 can go up to 8 or 9+1, just sticks out a little bit more. The 938 feels substantially better built but that's likely due to the metal construction. Both have been reliable the last year, but both have the potential for issues in early production units. The 938 has main spring housing issues before July 2015 ($20 2hr fix) and the 365 had a couple issues right when they started production. The 938 feels nicer in the hand with the G10 factory grips and has lots of traction with the checkering. The undercut on the trigger is nice too but makes the trigger guard small if shooting with gloves. The finish on both is terrible, and while good at resisting rubbing they will scratch if you look at them too hard. It's almost like a really thin parkerizing. Shooting is very similar and the sights are functionally identical. With regular sized man hands you can perfectly fit all your fingers on both guns, though the 365 pinches my finger where the mag base plate interfaces with the frame when shooting. The weird baseplate on the normal 7 round 938 mags makes reloading a bit interesting until you get used to it, but this isn't really the kind of gun to be speed reloading anyways. The safety on the 938 is head and shoulders above the one on the 365 and it will loosen up over time, especially if oiled. Both are equally accurate for a tiny gun, though 20-25yd on person sized targets is all I would try in a real world scenario. Trigger is much shorter and crisper on the 938 (especially the reset), though it is also noticeably heavier. It makes for a nice trigger but makes high accuracy hard because of the break weight and tiny frame. The 365 feels like a regular striker fired trigger and is adequate nothing more or less. Women have been 50/50 on the guns, and the only complaint I've ever heard was "snappy" when talking about the 365 and "really nice" on the 938 though I can't substantiate those feelings. Both are great guns and I'd highly recommend either. The 938 feels more "special" to me (though it isn't) but the metal frame makes it feel like a solid tool that you can depend on, similar to a 1911 or CZ75. More old-world. The 365 is a good gun too though and I'd much rather have one than say a Hellcat or G26. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I'm looking to get one of these for a pocket gun for work where I'll get fired if they catch me carrying I appreciate your comment, although I will point out a major advantage of the g26 which is stock mag options. 10+1 in the holster for concealing, but you can carry 15,17, or 19 round stock mags for it. I'm not a huge glock guy (only bought mine because they do great law enforcement discounts), but dont sleep on their mag compatibility game My regular carry is a g30s but that's because no one else makes 10+1 in .45 in a gun that small
@jacobac42
@jacobac42 4 ай бұрын
@@vidar188 That makes sense. The capacity is pretty limited on these pocket guns. From what I know, the 8/9+1 Kimber mags are as large as it gets while still being able to carry. However, I don't use the 938 as a do-it-all gun. I have a different compact sized 9mm that can handle more capacity and different mag sizes and all of that fun if I need that freedom in a carry space. The 938, as good as it is, is more of a rule 1 gun for me and therefore the coarse sights and low capacity aren't that big of a deal. I will say too, the 938 is way way smaller feeling than a G26 when concealing

I absolutely loved my p365xl but I ended up shooting a hellcat recently and sold the sig to buy a hellcat. The last gun I ever expected to like is the hellcat and I carry it every day. Considering the p938 lately, I live in an anti gun state so capacity isn’t an issue as I can only legally carry 10 round +1 in the pipe.

Thanks for the excellent comparison video. I own the Sig P938 and love it. I've repeatedly considered buying a P365. Since I live in Washington State, where recent legislation has limited carry guns to 10-round magazines, these small, concealable guns have become much more popular here. However, I still have my 15-17 round pistols for home defense, which I believe are still legal for use on my own property.

Just one man's opinion, but I'd stay with the 938. Unless it has issues, they are reliable and safe weapons. They're actually amazing weapons. And, you can make that impressive trigger even nicer with an inexpensive spring kit. The 365 is a trendsetter in one aspect, size vs magazine capacity. I give them that. But, it's a 5-year old platform with plenty of issues in recent history and no external safety of any type. Early examples had a lot of issues, but to be fair, they mostly seem to have been resolved. But I would need more time. When the 365 has 5-years of realistically problem free, reliable history, I'd consider one. Heck, when Sig as a whole has 5-years of realistically problem free, reliable history, I'd consider one beyond the 320 Max I already own. If I wanted the capacity, polymer and striker fired in a carry pistol, I'd carry the slightly larger Glock 26 with nearly 30-years of proven, reliable operation around the globe. I don't currently own a 365 or a 26, but I've shot both and shoot the 26 much better. That may be due to so many year experience with the Glock trigger, so someone with more 365 experience may do the opposite. I do have a model 27 that is 29-years old, with over 20K rounds through it, and it continues to exceed my expectations. Good luck with your exploration and I hope you suffer no more infringement of your 2A rights.

One of my favorite things about my 938 is the grip, it feels a little larger for such a small gun. I have XL hands, and this is the first small handgun that I can shoot well. The way my hand grips it, the barrel is perfectly aligned with my forearm. I actually practice more just drawing then point and shoot, and I surprise myself how well I do. My previous carry was a little .38 revolver and I couldn't hit a darn thing without some serious effort, the 938 I just point and shoot. I figure if I ever really need it, I probably won't have time to aim.

Yes my 365 X Macro Tacops shoots like a full size handgun yet conceals just as well as the P238. I’ve had zero failures with the Tacops and can’t believe how blessed I am to carry such a nice piece. I carried my H&K USP Compact 40 for many many years first gun just a little harder to conceal due to width. But really digging my Tacops that I’m experimenting with a Holosun 407K which I’m really enjoying also. Not really a red dot fan due to really bad Astigmatism but this 407K and 6 MOA red dot is fantastically clear and doesn’t starburst like my Eotech holographic did. I’m really enjoying your channel. Been watching KZfaq forever yet you’re the first channel I’ve ever subscribe to I’m really enjoying your style of videos. Keep up the good work and welcome to the freedom of carry. Nice review Arkansas👍 P938 with hogue BRG grip is in my EDC rotation, along with S&W .38 airweight jframe. Right front pocket with sticky DeSantis pocket holster (different models for each). Highly concealable and easy to ignore. Depends on my mood on that day. Both sexy, but looks don’t matter much since I’m the only one to see them. My leather belt holster snuggles with a S&W all steel .357 jframe packing .38+p. I can’t bring myself to carry a hot striker gun without manual safety. P938 cocked and locked much more to my liking. Wheel guns with heavy DAO are comforting as well. Can’t speak to P365…haven’t shot nor carried one. Call me “old school” ✌️

I have both. I carried the 938 from 2013 until I switched over to the 365 in 2020. There’s still a place for the 938 though. Sometimes the thickness (really, the lack there of) of the 938 makes it the better carry choice for me. The only thing I don’t like about the 938 is that it seemed to create small holes in my shirts from the hammer and/or thumb safety. I carry in an OWB leather holster.

I have the P365 in 380 and the Springfield 911 in 380. The Springfield is identical in size and weight to the Sig p238; their magazines are even interchangeable. Both are clones of the old Colt Mustang. I can easily pocket carry the Springfield 911; the p365 can fit in some pockets, but it doesn't disappear in my pocket. The p365 and the 911 both have good triggers and short resets. I find that the p365 in 380 has much less felt recoil than the 911. I shoot it better. It has far greater capacity; 10+1 v 7+1. And I also have a 12 round magazine. Since the p365 came optics ready, I put a Holosun 407k on it. Now it's too big to pocket carry, but I like it so much that I'm going to get an IWB holster for it. One other big difference (at least for me); the p365 is easier to take down for cleaning and lubing. All the micro compacts which are copies of the old Colt Mustang( p238, p938, Springfield 911) have one annoying feature: When you disengage the safety, it pinches the flesh between your thumb and forefinger. It's a distracting shock. You can train yourself to grip it differently in order to avoid this. Be aware of it.

I carry the P365 with Sig 124g JHPs as my EDC. My first sub compact. It came with 1-12rd. extended mag which barely gives my pinkey some grip so it resides in the pistol and 1-10rd standard mag which is a bit short for my hand. The ten rd. mag is my spare. I have shot my Sig JHPs, other name brand JHPs in 115g and 124g, 115g brand FMJ and JHP and JHP&FMJ reloads, and off brand JHP & FMJ. Never a fte or ftf. Probably 1000 rnds total. I find the 365 a bt snappy but I have very "meaty" hands so that may be me but I wonder if having the weight of a steel slide, barrel, sights, firing pin and springs above a relativley light polymer frame may exaserbate the snappy rise of the 3.1" barrel. I have no trouble hitting center mass out to 15 yds and trust the 365 with my life. I would like a manual safety because I carry one in the pipe but not enough to trade for an XL. Nite sights are nice, trigger is adequate. I came across the P938 which peaked my interest but have never fired one. I carry owb in a Safariland ALS belted holster with forward cant. Not as concealabe as other rigs but I like the thumb lock and suits my belly🙂. Now looking at a 4.0 " bbl. CCW for better accuracy and faster second shot target acqusition beyond 15 yds. Considering CZ P07, P10c, Glock 19 among others. Any compact users out there with recomendations?

P365 all day every day that's why it's 365 for every single day of carry. Great gun, great shot, lightweight and reliable at least for me. I own both the P365XL and the P938. The P938 is smaller, it's a true pocket gun. It fits better in the waistband than the P365. I would consider the P365XL model that I have a modern compact gun. For me, it's better carried OWB. My frame of reference is the Glock 19 and competitors such as the P320 carry as duty guns. Full size guns such as the 1911, Glock 17 and the P320 for me are target or military duty guns

Man I bought a 938 and it won’t run. Jams constantly. Sent back to sig twice and now they’re saying it’s fine and it must be user error. I’ve lost faith in them as a company. There are forums and forums filled with 938 jamming issues so I know it’s not just mine. This seems to be a trend of them denying the shortcomings in their designs. They do it with the p320 as well. It’s well documented that they are not drop safe and can discharge on their own but they just keep denying it and saying user error or the trigger was pulled. I have a 365 that runs good but I’ll probably never buy another sig unfortunately.

what do you mean by "jamming"?? did you have an extraction issue or an ejection issue? You didn't mention what ammo you were using... especially when some ammo is notorious for problems in otherwise perfect operating guns. As far as my experience with 9mm in my P229, it runs flawlessly with any of the popular respected brands, like Federal, Blazer, PMC, etc... pick any grain, any style. But white box Winchester, oh boy.... 1 out of 4 extraction failures, or worse. Will never buy that ammo ever again.
