Pazham pori is a Kerala snack made with ripe plantain. It is also called “Ethakka appam”. In Malayalam, ripe plantain is known as ‘Ethakka’. Anyone with basic cooking knowledge can make this snack very easily at home. Usually Pazham Pori is made with all purpose flour, but you can also make it using wheat flour. Friends, try this recipe and please post your feedback.

- INGREDIENTS -
Ripe plantain (ഏത്തപ്പഴം) - 3 Nos
All purpose flour (മൈദ) - 1 Cup
Rice flour (അരിപ്പൊടി) - 1 Tablespoon
Sugar (പഞ്ചസാര) - 3 Tablespoon
Turmeric powder (മഞ്ഞള്‍പൊടി) - ¼ Teaspoon
Salt (ഉപ്പ്) - ¼ Teaspoon
Water - ¾ Cup
Oil (എണ്ണ) - To deep fry

A very good presentation and very informative. Thank you. Pazhampori can also be made with Lady Finger bananas (also known as sugar bananas, sucrier, fig bananas, or date bananas), as long as it is not over ripe. The taste is slightly different to eytha pazham. but good.
