I used to be shy and afraid to talk in English. Then one day I applied in a BPO company because it's one of the highest paying jobs that time. The interviewer was so intimidating and scary so in short I stuttered and didn't respond to the interviewer appropriately. So I failed, but then suddenly the interviewer changed it's aura from scary to angelic and gave me all the advice to improve in speaking in English. So I took her advice and now I'm in the BPO industry for 12 years. The advise was to watch English movies more often, read English books aloud, talk in English even just for fun. I still don't speak English perfectly but that's how I improved. Thanks to that interviewer. Hope makatulong ito.

I'm a freshmen, i am having difficulties in constructing sentences, my vocabulary is limited and it's really hard for me to make an essay. I also barely pass my english subject. I know it is the result of being lazy back in highschool but I want to change, I want to improve my english skills and finish my study. For those students like me doubting ourselves, don't worry too much. I know we can do it.

When I was in elementary/high school, favorite ko yung English subject lalo na pag ang teacher medyo strict. That is why I maintain high grade and honor student din ako. Akala ko madala ko sya hanggang College but I was wrong. Maybe because of family issues regardless of how my siblings treated me. Out of know where I forgot that I’ve ruined my studies and put my confidence into my packet. Subrang na hiya ako, subrang nakakawala ng gana. I walk away and trying to look whom I trust. Nag enroll ako sa College and find job to support myself and my study as well. I expect so much na hindi na maulit muli yung nangyari way back in high school. Akala ko mabait mga College student malakaibigan not bully nor judgmental but I was dreaming all along. Wala din akong friends dahil siguro wala din akong time if ever my friends ako dahil may work din ako. Masayahin ako sa work pero pagdating sa school parang nakakapagod pumasok dahil napapaligiran ako ng mga taong mapanghusga. Mahirap kapag wala kang kaibigan sa school gusto mo man mag report maki pag debate pero pag wala kang friends to chir you up to support waley haha. Kaya para ma maintain ko yung CHED scholar ko ako gumagawa ng mga report paper etc. Nahihiya din akong makipag sabayan sakanila kasi my class sila. Hindi nman sa mahina ako sa English. Nahihiya lang talaga ako to speak in public. Nahihiya din ako lumabas ng dorm. Subrang laki ng damage sakin when it comes to family issue. Sa ngayon I started building myself back medjo ok nadin kami sa fam ko. And planning to have masters degree and taking units for education. I just realized bakit ako mahihiya e pariho lang tayo tumatae ng mabahu at mamatay. Gud luck sa lahat! Merry Christmas 🎁 have a bless new year.

I think one of the easiest way to learn English is to talk to our locals and foreigners who speak English language.

Master the basics. Identify the 8 parts of speech, practice advanced English grammar, and enrich your vocabulary.

Do not take everything seriously. One effective way to learn is to have fun as it has always been observed on many people who are good speakers of english. In addition to this, do not be afraid of making grammar mistakes due to the fact that it is part of your journey. If you don’t make mistakes, you will not move forward.

My experience do watching videos by English subtitles everyday. Reading poets of English and don’t forget to discover more words of English to enhance your learnings. Talk your self even without neighbors at your side by speaking English to improve your fluency.

First step: Don't be afraid to speak in public even though people laughing at you.

I'm a freshmen but i admit that i'm not literally good when it comes to oral even the written but i'm trying my best to become a good speaker,now i'm still in the process.

I got into it. I wasn't so serious in my studies during my elementary & junior years especially learning English. I never thought I will take up Engineering until I graduated in High School because my father who decided it. It's really embarrassing if you have difficulty expressing yourself, and even a huge barrier to share your ideas inside the class. When you speak or write, do it simpler but with correct grammar as much as possible. I suggest you to read the Bible written in standard or modern English along with Tagalog translation (same version especially New Testaments).

As far as I know, many college graduated didn't know speaks fluent in English, even in written they are failed.

The simplest way to learn how to speak English is environmental exposure. Stay on a place where people speaks English often so you'll have an everyday practice. It depends on the environmental atmosphere that you are in.

I think the country's education system should put less emphasis on the English language and focus more on leveling up the state of our own language, Filipino. This'll greatly improve the students critical thinking and make overall learning easier.

This is a good tip. We are required to use English but from the outside world most people aren't that good in speaking in English, mostly in workplaces with different nationalities. Basic English is enough to understand each other. Don't worry on people who stereotyping your grammar, they don't have any idea on the reality of the outside world.. It can improve over time.

I learned speaking English not in school, but through watching anime and reading manga, and as time goes by I realized that I can speak and construct my own sentence, nag ka trauma kasi ako sa mga teacher ko and I'm a victim of being bullied kaya walang ganang pumasok that's why I watch anime just to entertain myself

Minsan maayos naman ako kapag written, pero minsan hindi. Sa oral talaga ako ligwak pero I can say that watching movies/series/shows which uses English has helped me. I also speak out my thoughts sometimes using English kahit sarili ko lang kausap ko. Reading also helped me to broaden my vocabulary range. And it's also helpful that I have a friend from USA. She tells me if there's something wrong with my sentence construction and my choice of words/terms. I'm learning a lot from her and through her.

Ako nga graduate na ng college at nakapag earned ng units sa teachibg at MPA di pa din magaling sa english, kaya isa un sa mga dahilan kaya di ako natatanggap. My secret to becoming fluent in English; I always use English words when I pray and talk to God. Especially in my personal prayer, in my family circle, and to the kids. Children don't laugh at you when you commit a mistake at the same time you teach them and you learn also from them. And familiarized basic English grammar then use it in your daily conversation. And practice makes perfect.

Need talaga natin gumawa ng paraan para matuto ng English language lalo na sa mga subject konektado sa law pag dating kac sa midterm and final exam malaki Yung chansa ng bagbagsak kapag iba yung pagkakaintindi ni professor sa gusto mo iparating sa sagot mo. I'm in my senior year in college and I'm still far from mastering english language, I'm not good in oral not even in writing. Months from now gagraduate na ako, maghahanap ng trabaho pero hindi ko pa rin magawang magsalita ng straight english. Although minsan kapag may mga written works akong dapat gawin, minsan naman nakakagawa ako ng maganda kahit papano. Kadalasan reaction paper at poems and essays. Nakaka frustrate, nakakadagdag sa stress na dala ng reality na kahaharapin after school life.

Tbh we don't need to be the literate or best in speaking in English. I too, have been struggling in learning the language. Lalo na sa mga starters na grammar-conscious. Sabi nga nila "it's not the grammar, it is the message that matters" so as long as what u are trying to convey is understandable, it is okay.

That's the reason why I'm afraid to speak English because a lot of Filipino is a smart shaming but I just to pursue my dignity to study in English. I graduated with BSED-English but I am still afraid of speak the language itself. I barely passed written and oral examinations because of my classmates. In my teaching demos, I got almost perfect grades and all of my teachers said the only thing I lack was my pronunciation. Fortunately, I had very supportive classmates to help me survive in college. I have just taken the LEPT exam last Sunday, Oct 2, 2022. I hope I passed the exam. While waiting for the result, I will look for teaching job, although I am not that good at speaking, I want to step into an educator and be successful someday. Although, I am not good at speaking, I want to be an inspiration of a learner who has anxiety of speaking the language too. That it should not be the reason why to stop dreaming. Mocking someone's English speaking skills or any skills is the same as you are stopping someone from success.

It's not about you SHOULD learn Filipino or English language. Learning English is not bad, either Filipino. I think we should stop to emphasis what should we learn first, since we are Filipino it should be the first to learn since it is our mother language. We only study other language because we want to communicate in other languages. Also, learning English has a lot of benefits since it is a national language. We can communicate to foreigners a little even if they are not that good in english. It can also lead us to work in other countries or lead our business in other countries.

Read, read, read, and read more! Use critical thinking. In that way, your English skill will be honed. Remember the parts of speech. Use context clues. Practice, practice, and practice.

Tips -when you're alone talk to yourself or tumingin ka lng sa paligid and describe it -read a story and understand (wattpad help me lol) - discover new words and use them in a sentence - make a poem in just a simple words - take it easy and make it slow but surely para mas madali kayong matuto

Exposure lang mga teh para matuto. It's pretty normal naman kung college kana, then you still not good in english pa rin. Since hindi naman "natin" or ilan sa atin ay first language ang english. Siguro wag masyadong matakot magkamali ang suggestion ko, WAG PO KAYONG MATAKOT MA JUDGE AT PAGTAWANAN SA ENGLISH NIYO KAPAG NAGKAKAMALI. If you want to be efficient, be open-minded person. Ako din kasi di masyadong marunong mag english eh! Pero imitation, acceptance, and perseverance. For sure mableeding nose na tao sayo kapag kausap ka.

Dapat tangkilikin rin ang sarili nating wika, hindi puro english. Aminin natin. Dumarami ang mga kabataan ang nalilimutan na ang sarili nating wika. Oo english ang international language pero mas isaalang alang natin ang pag gamit natin ng ating sariling wika. Dahil ito ang nas mahalaga.
