Que gran momento.!! Un tren de vapor, despierta por si solo, la admiración de cualquier amante del ferrocarril. A su grandeza y elegante marcha, se le suman, la solemnidad de sus variados silbidos, envueltos en grandes penachos de humo blanco, que transmiten calor en medio de este precioso y frío paisaje alpino. Es en éste momento sublime, donde el tren se torna Majestuoso. Un instante mayestático. Precioso vídeo, felicidades!! 🚂🚋🚋🚋

Was International Rescue (fire and rescue train) because of the Ae4/7 failing or part of the 'show'? The 01 is a bit of a racehorse big wheels and 3 driving axles, the C5/6 more a cart horse best on the big hills. But in these conditions, (snow) an electric as an assist is good planning. Re 4/4 I at the start, Re4/4 IIs , and Ae4/7s

Ja, ich weiß.... Aber die nachlaufende oder gar vorwegeilende E-Lok macht Fotos vom Gesamtzug unbrauchbar. Ansonsten gutes, ruhiges Video ohne Smartphonewackelei...😀 Daumen hoch!

What is that stupid electic locomotive doing at the rear of the train. It looks like an outboard engine mounted at Nelsons HMS Victory at Trafalgar.

The electrolocomotives are needed to brake the train downhill, because of the danger of fire on the side of the railroad in the summer and steamlocomotives are not allowed to pull full power in the tunnel because it would have to much smoke in it for the regular trains and then the firealarm would go on.

If I'm not mistaken, it's also about the electric features of the passenger cars, such as heating and lighting. At least in Switzerland, usually, these historic train compositions seem to get fitted with historic electric units, which are also well loved among rail fans, which are likely to make up quite a share of the target audience. Depending on the steam locomotive in question, the electric locomotive might even be older than the steam loco itself!
