Had a chance to visit Sierra City this past summer. After having watched so many hikers stop there, I thought it was time to see it myself. It's only about an hour and a half from our cabin near Truckee. Did not disappoint. Nice to cross paths with so many helpful people....always been my experience as well.

I love your videos, and obviously you are an amazing athlete, and amazing no matter what. But I’m a bit worried about you. I’m risking causing some offense here, so of course, you do you, right? Runners can have more heart disease because they eat more cholesterol. To improve your athletic performance and health, you might want to take a look this video, “Why All Athletes Should Eat Plant-Based Diets” (by Dr. Michael Greger) on KZfaq (it's only about 6 minutes). It mentions the movie, The Game Changers, that includes Scott Jurek who won the Western States Endurance Run seven consecutive times (1999-2005), and set a record on the Appalachian Trail. The movie is rated 16+ and has violence and adult themes, but there is also a bunch of interesting information. Please remember, you are amazing exactly as you are. Best wishes. Peace.

@1attempting2bkind52 I take no offense to what you said. In real life I actually eat a lot healthier. However, on a thruhike you HAVE to eat a lot and it really doesn’t matter what it is. Everyone reaches a point on a thruhike where their body is consuming itself. There is no way to take in enough calories. I do eat a lot of plant based foods, but I’m more of the mindset to live in moderation. I get regular physicals and I assure you I’m healthy as a horse🙌🏻🫶🏻
