Hi! In this video I start at Crabtree Meadows near the base of Mount Whitney and make my way to Forester Pass (the highest point on the PCT). From Forester Pass I go to Kearsarge Pass and end up in Bishop!

And thank you for all your editing work! Must be hard when you are tired. You all seem to walk so quickly to someone who has never walked before. It looks like another planet, but oh - that cold 🥶. Incredible what you are doing!!

Thank you for these videos! My son is also doing the thru hike and is heading to Mt. Whitney. He left Kennedy Meadows yesterday, June 24th, and is stoked to be out of the dessert and into the Sierras! His name is Max and his trail name is PB Legs. Best wishes and keep hiking!!!!

Try using Mio for snowcones. 👏 Gotta have shades. Hard to hike blind😬 Been thru the Sierra twice. Hopefully again someday. Sierra remains my fav section of PCT. Thx for the ride!

Such a beautiful area. The best part of the trail. One of my favorite areas to hike. Not much of a snow pack this year. What happened to your sunglasses? You need to get another pair. UV light causes cataracts, which I got very early b/c I spent most of my free time in the mountains.

Coincidentally I’m watching you struggle through this at the same time I’m reading ‘Thu-hiking will break your heart’ by Carrot Quinn, struggling through the same sections of the High Sierra. Sounds like a real grind with clear moments of beauty and clarity, amongst the pain, that will stay with you forever. You’ve got this! Breathing technique for altitude will get you through. Best of luck. I’m looking forward to more of your adventures. 🙏

Hang in there champ. What your experiencing is elevation pressure on your joints and the fact of carrying a load on your back. It’s easy to walk up hill but much worse to walk down. So when you come to some form of elevated trail your joints and feet can ache 😣. It’s natural until your body can get use to it. Still with you and don’t give up. Doing a walk-about makes you delve into your thoughts emotions and being. By chronicling your adventures helps and gives purpose to your self understanding. I promise when your done you will be a totally different person. But walking upwards makes for a achy body later. Been there done that. SEMPER FI

Sorry for coaching the game after it's been played, friends, but take those crampons and microspikes off when glissading. You'll probably be OK, but catching a point on the way down can flip you over, twist a joint or break a bone. They should come off while glissading, full stop. Use your poles or - better - the point of your ice axe, with the axe in arrest position, to control your speed like a side brake. Be safe, sure enjoy your vids., You have a nice eye and a positive outlook. Happy to host you in Ashland, OR if it lines up.
