Hello! In this video I summit Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous U.S. It is technically not part of the PCT but is a short side trail so most hikers decide to hike it since they are in the best shape of their lives. It was a great climb and I had a ton of fun!

I got a late start to your videos, Twiggy. I just recently started binge watching any PCT videos as I could find, since I hope to do it next year, and I came across your channel. First let me say, I have two daughters who are roughly your age, and your dad should be very proud. You're a tough person with a very kind spirit. I didn't want to be a pain and comment on every video, but I have to say I'm enjoying them all very much. As another commenter said, this is the best Mt. Whitney video I've seen, and I've seen a ton by now. Almost nobody films the route up and back, and you've captured it very well.

Thanks Jedi for the kind words! I wish you luck hiking the PCT! That’s exactly what I did when I first got inspired to hike it, I binged a bunch of KZfaq videos. I learned a lot from other people’s videos that helped me along the way tremendously!

I read up about Whitney after watching this and apparently the shelter in top is actually intended as shelter from lightning conditions, as lightning strike is the most common fatality on Whitney.

Someone else stayed back at basecamp (he had a knee injury) but I would have felt perfectly safe leaving stuff at Crabtree Meadows on the day I went. I might have been a little worried about bears but not as worried about other people as it was all thru-hikers hanging around camp, many of which I’ve met😊
