Pacing and Roll-bys along BNSF's Panhandle and Hereford Subs (Summer 1998)

In the summer of 1998 we visited the former Santa Fe Panhandle and Hereford Subdivisions on our way to New Mexico. This area is part of BNSF’s busy transcon route running from Chicago to the west coast. In this video we see a number of trains between Woodward Oklahoma and Summerfield Texas. Thanks for posting the pre-millenial videos. I am a railfan, but not into filming videos. I appreciate all the folks that take the time and effort to film these trains. I know there is a lot of older stuff out there coz I've seen you all out there filming for 30 years. Thanks again.

Those Dash8’s just look goofy with 4 axle trucks.

Baby 8s is what some ppl called em. They were several feet shorter and were quick on their feet with acceleration. They, along with the 60Ms were VERY uncomfortable to ride in at 35 mph and higher.
