PACKING A HOSPITAL BAG FOR DAD
What should Dad pack in his hospital bag? In this weeks video, I'm going to share some recommendations for what a new dad should put in his hospital bag. A little thought and planning can go a long way, and keep you from having an "oh sh!t" moment when you forget something.
Hospital Bag Packing for Dads
- Focus on clothing that's comfortable, breathable, and easy to move around in. Don't get too dressed up as you'll be moving around a lot more than you think you will.
- Dress in layers. Hospitals can be warm during the day, and very cold at night. Make sure you have plenty of layers to get you throuhg the temperature changes.
Bring your dopp kit! Don't forget your dad essentials like toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, etc. (Wet wipes are a bonus when you don't have time to shower).
- Pack plenty of snacks. The labor process can take several hours, or a few days, so be prepared to be in that hospital room for a while. Bring plenty of healthy snacks to help you keep your energy up and your head in the game.
- Bring some newborn clothes. Not all hospitals will allow you to put your baby in the clothes you brought, but bring a few outfits in a few sizes just in case. (Socks, mittens to keep the baby from scratching themselves, onsies, and a few newborn hats to keep them warm).
