For those wondering about packing shoes, we forgot to pack them for the video! And we actually had to drive back for a few more pairs (luckily we remembered after we’d been on the road for 10 minutes) all together we took 6 pairs of shoes with us. But because we are driving instead of flying, we didn’t pack them, just threw them into the backseat of the car (in their dust bags, of course) 😂

The look you give Arne when he says Especially You, needing to change your underwear everyday! I can't quit laughing! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I am so looking forward to this road trip. It has been 48 years since I have been to Norway, where I hitchhiked from Hammrfest to Gudbransdalen, then down to Oslo and I worked on 2 farms for the summer. I loved it, and I wish that I could go back there again.

Nice cubes! I used to travel for work and was required to pack only 1 carry-on luggage for 7-10 days. I rolled all my clothes up and tightly packed them into wet bags (those used for wet nappies). Same concept as your cubes, very useful because I changed hotels almost everyday and hence had no chance to unpack.

The cubes are the best thing since .....well, sliced lox😂 I am so excited to go,on a road trip with you gentlemen. I am so happy you are better Carlos. I’m from tennessee. Here in the southern states you have wicked heat but the humidity is so awful your clothes just feel like they stick to you. Shorts in the south for sure! So glad you’re well and so good to see you both!!

Awesome video ! My first car was a 1961 Beetle -I bought it in 1975 for $200Cdn-that car survived several extreme Canadian prairie winters-even started in -40C..We upgraded to an American vehicle when our daughter came along but nothing beat the VW for reliability.When we can travel again Norway will be high on the list.Thank you!

I like the nested suitcase tip! When I was in Norway I bought several antique treasures and a bunch of yarn so I picked up an extra suitcase for 10 Euros in the thrift shop in Trondheim. I found several more treasures there as well.

My parents went to France and my mother returned with an item she didn’t realize was a pun ... socks. A pair of them. A .... Paris socks! (Edit.... they had Eiffel towers on them)

I got my "cubes" from L.L. Bean many many years ago and they changed my packing forever, such wonderful little suitcases within a suitcase. Mine had a mesh top so I could use more than one of the same size and see what was inside without having to zip it open. Norway is one of the most beautiful countries I've ever traveled in (tied with Switzerland), so really looking forward to seeing this trip even though I'm showing up a little late.

I use those cubes for everything! At home they are project bags for cross stitch and quilting projects. When traveling everything (almost) goes into a bag. Drop them into the drawers on the ship (clean and easy to re-pack). Great organization tool. Good for electronics, easy to take extra for things purchased on the trip. Love them!

I love this video as I love all the videos you do on your everyday life : gardening, cooking, reading, etc as I do not knit. I dream when I see you in your different rooms that seem endless. I live in a two room flat in Paris. I woud love to see more of your house decoration that is gorgeous. As suggested by other followers it would be nice to see your travel and scrap journals. you are doing really well with your videos, they seem more laid back than the ones done before the pandemy. Phantastic! This is going to be a great nordic adventure in a vintage German epic vehicle. You know, my dad`s first car was a Karmann Ghia, back in the 60s and his second one a VW Beetle with the devided back window, we call it Brezelkäfer in Germany. Back in the 80s I myself was a member of the VW Club. We held an annual VW festival where hundregs of Beetles and their drivers of course showed up. This was held in Lenglingen, Kreis Göppingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The highlight was a tour with all the attendees, convoying through our district with the police guarding the front and back of the convoy. Wow, those where the days. Have a lot of fun on your trip. Can`t wait to see all your adventures. Wonderful packing tipps too. You know, I might sew myself some of those little bags to go inside of suitcases for myself. They are also great for everyday stuff too. In my gym bag for Aikido practice I already practice this "Matroshka" style packing. I have a cloth bag for my shower slippers and a bag for my shower gel and brush and so on as well as a baggy for fresh underwear. It is so much easier to find things and when things are organized in life, everything gets easier and you have more time for knitting, haha. Huggs from Germany, Christina
