Paddling the Canal at Winter Harbor, Virginia

4 жыл бұрынA lone 100 year old house on an island in the Chesapeake Bay. Surrounded by marshes on one side and the Bay on the other, accessible only by boat over shallow water. This canal, 150 yards long, leads from the marsh side to the house.

Lovely. I saw very little of what I remember of the Chesapeake here, but the tune and the tempo led me through Shadyside, Maryland -as well as Upper Marlboro's creeks and sassafrass trees, and back to a recurring thought that I need to read James Michener's novel, Chesapeake, again. Thanks.
