"doesn't put more eyes on boxing" he counters his own arguement as to why he doesn't like it.

he's also not wrong about Sponsors, companies can make so much money from someone like Jake Paul who would promote not only to more people but to also a younger audience. It's the safer bet to sponsor a "youtube boxer" atm than a real fighter who's been doing this their whole life and it was the one thing they were good at/succeed in, pretty sad the state that boxing is in, its just a place for people like Floyd, McGregor, Tyson Fury, Wilder etc to make a lot of money in one night and then not fight for another year

"Taking money out of real boxers pockets" Genuinely the worst opinion involved when it comes to Influencer boxing. I can tell you now little Jimmy who buys the fight to see KSI has 0 interest in a fight between Billam-Smith VS Masternak. He was never buying it for any reason other than KSI. They'd make more money being on that card then they would on basically any other card. Sponsors are the same, they never paid much for these B tier and below cards anyway. Nothing has changed.

You don't see footballers getting annoyed at things like the charity matches, why isn't anyone saying they're taking away from Lower league footballers?

Lame or not, I was never ever into boxing but I grew up watching KZfaq and naturally got an interest for it after watching the KZfaq boxing fights. Now I watch traditional boxing as well and go to events and I actually took on boxing myself. I can see why it’s not a great look for the sport of boxing but it for sure inspires some people to get into it also.

Influencer boxing IS good for boxing. Sponsors want to put their money behind people who have a lot of eyes on them, and most traditional boxers aren’t doing a good job of that. I mean have you ever watched a boxing press conference, it literally could not be any more boring. If they want more money and attention, they should take a page out of Jake Paul’s book and actually be entertaining outside the ring

Like a good tv show pretty much. They have a lot of fights, but people want to be invested in the character as well. It's a bit of a shame sometimes that it has to be that way to keep the sport entertaining and alive. Hardly anyone wants anything to do with it if it's just "Yeah, I just love to fight. It's my passion."

I remember watching the first KSI fight. I was scrolling through KZfaq and saw there was a boxing livestream. I clicked it and start watching. The main card started and I didn't know who KSI or Joe were. I randomly picked KSI as the person I wanted to win. No reason why, just did. I have watched every fight of his since because I enjoy watching the journey of this guy learning to fight and wanted to see how long he could keep winning for. I have paid for and watched 2 non KZfaq related fights since and I don't think I would have if I hadn't watched that first livestream. There's a lot of stupid moments in KZfaq boxing but overall I'd say it is a good thing.

What KSI does is incredibly low grade, if 10 was top tier and 1 in the sewer, KSI is a 1 in boxing terms and hes not going to get much better. Try watching some top tier fights.

Paddy the Baddy is clueless on this to be honest. I never watched boxing until 2018 when Logan Paul fought KSI. Now I watch all pro boxing matches, subscribe to all the channels (DAZN etc) and I pay for all PPV's. So it brings new eyes and subsequently more money into real boxing. I knew I hated scousers, and this clown further reinforces my opinion!

big boxing and ufc fan, would never catch me buying into one of those youtube boxing events, but i dont agree its taking money out of boxers pockets. They bring in their own crowd, if anything they are introducing people to boxing and maybe there's an argument it might in the long term put money in their pocket. Maybe the sponsorship side of things is true, but as much as i'm not a fan of it, fair play to anyone who gets into the ring and fights.

Yeah but that’s the problem they’re only there to watch their influencers.. there could be really good fighters that aren’t getting recognition because all the focus is on the influencers, when the influencers stop contending and chase the next clout fountain the fans follow they don’t stay, they don’t care for anyone else in the sport apart from their idol influencers! Not the biggest fan of Paddy, but he's 100% right. Ignoring the fact that Logan Paul was exposed in the Danis matchup as someone WHO CANT FIGHT, an MMA fighter would absolutely destroy a boxer in the octagon. Just the leg kicks alone would take a boxer out in seconds. But once an MMA fighter gets them to the ground with grapples and puts them in a choke hold, or ankle lock...its just over. I have a lot of respect for boxers, but there sport is its own thing. Paddy would legitimately kill Logan. NOW if Paddy boxed Paul then Logan might have a chance. But again Logan couldn't even take out Danis, who was a complete joke. So I think it's pretty obvious at this point that Logan is not a fighter, and will never be one. Doesn't have it in him. So I still think Paddy would take him in a boxing match.

I dont think it would happen, just based on weight, Paddy is a good 20kg lighter than the Paul brothers. Also they don't seem to be too interested in fighting strikers, they only cherry pick fighters who were predominantly wresters- and at the end of their career. (the only exception being Anderson Silva, who was approaching 50...) Funny how they're not calling out fighters like Pereira...

Based on everything I've seen from both, I'd be shocked if Paddy can beat Logan Paul in a boxing match. He can't strike very well and leaves his chin up - below average MMA striker, unsure how he thinks he wins...

You’re assuming Paddy gets a much larger guy who is a fantastic wrestler to the ground, and you’re also assuming that Paddy’s striking isn’t total trash. Neither of these things are true. Paddy’s striking is just as bad as Logan’s and there is zero chance he can take a guy like Logan down. Logan has zero shot against anybody at 185, but a 155er who got a robbery win against Jared Gordon and is generally not top tier in anything? That favors Logan.

Tag team boxing is surely more dangerous, boxing is dangerous because of the number of punches the athletes take to the head surely then the ability to tag out after being nearly knocked out, recover a bit and then get back rut and potentially get knocked out again is even more dangerous?

lol, fair play to him, he's said here what a lot of people think, especially RE the youtube boxing fights being rigged, it's actually pretty astonishing if you think about it, that all popular and regulated betting companies/websites offered bets on all of the youtube boxing events, and they even helped to promote them with special offers and etc, when all the "big" youtube fights have been so obviously rigged and anyone can see it. tbh, imo, even real boxing is like that, with the wilder/fury draw being a massive example of that. so all respect to paddy for saying that out loud and so casually, even if he didn't go that far. i wouldn't be surprised if he actually got into some kinda trouble with a sponsor or some affiliated media contractor as a result of what he said here, because all those kinds of companies and forces are in bed with eachother, and he didn't mess around here calling them all out, lol

The influencer stuff aside… been hearing this same BS from MMA guys for 20 years. I boxed for 6 years… mma guys would come to the boxing gym to work on their feet and ALWAYS get destroyed. And I’m sure we would get destroyed in their ring. But this whole boxings dead talk … I’ve heard it for 20 years and yet records keep being broken with pay-per-view. I will wholeheartedly agree it’s not where it was in the 90s or even in the 2000s but the idea that boxing is dead. It’s the biggest Iroll in the world for me.

I don't get how influencer boxing is taking money from other boxers. There's A LOT of boxers. and alot of boxers are still "small time". There are many big time that will sell out stadiums. Canelo, Tank, garcia, haney, fury, and many many more. Just got to build yourself up just like every influencer did on social media. Pretty sure if KSI hosts a boxing match and Tank does a fight on the same day, Tank is selling out that stadium 100%.

Its actually done the opposite of taking money away from legit boxers. It’s made a lot of kids find boxing for the first time and maybe that turns them onto the legit boxers and a fan of the sport

I like paddy, ufc, boxing and some yt boxing. However, there’s a reason paddy has his own yt channel, goes on podcasts & is as outspoken as he is, bc if all goes well, mcgregor/ksi popularity means more money. Jack catrall, despite his amazing boxing skill, he is seen as boring and doesn’t have a personality outside of the ring & is why ‘the arena was half empty’. Lower lvl boxer and ufc star should try and find a way to boost their popularity like Ksi to earn more money bc more attention on their fights brings more cash into their purses.
