I have had kidney stones and a hypernea and I can tell you they are VERY painful. When I hear this story about how Padre Pio endured this ailments I stand in awe of this very special saint. Thank God we have a saint like Padre Pio to look up to when we are down and in pain both physically and spiritually - he lifts us up by his example - I love you Padre Pio - please pray for me and my family!

What a sublime gift from Our Lady, to be so jovial yet serene in the face of suffering and pain, gladly taken on for the salvation of souls, the remission of sin and the healing of the sick. What bothers me is the suffering our beloved St. Padre Pio went thru when doctors could of relieved him, you see our Priests our Capuchin and others their living quarters back then the body needs some warm , our body needs nutrition in sense the physical body ,I’ve done some travel and research during the years , I feel emotional on this subject they don’t complain . God bless all his children which it’s all of us😊 God bless all the souls that pass during these wars and tragic events taken place ,Lord please take care of our elderly ,we need to pray for peace🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐💐🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

May the most blessed St Padre Pio be honoured and glorified for eternity along with all of the heavenly congregation as we thank them for their continued prayers and intercession from their heavenly home for us. I continue to ask you my dear friends to please remember our blessed lady each day for a few moments and pray to her meditating on the seven sorrows that pierced her most pure heart during her life on earth, this prayer is most powerful and brings great comfort to both our white lady of peace and also her blessed son Jesus and many graces are obtained from this powerful prayer. I also ask you my dear friends to please remember our blessed saviour Jesus for a few moments each day and pray to him remembering his agonising on the Mount of olives where he shed tears for us, sweat blood and where his prayer flowed in trembling agony from his heart so pure and divine. I pray today that the blessings of the almighty and eternal Father will be with you all now and always and that the most blessed holy spirit will continue to guide you all in the love and peace of the most blessed and beautiful holy family amen.

Poor,poor Padre. I am so sorry the Padre had to go through that dreadful and painful surgery. I am also sorry that the surgeon took advantage of Padre passing out, to inspect his stigmatic wounds. After going to the lengths he went o so as not have his stigmata inspected and then it happened anyway is a matter of extremely ungentlmanlike behaviours by the doctor. I am so sorry for Padre and then with his lungs and ears and throat not to mention his stigmata. Truly a great saint. Beloved by Jesus I am sure for his work.

The lung issue was no doubt due to fluid buildup in his lung cavity resulting in pleural effusion .. no doubt due to a damaged kidney reducing his kidney function thus a buildup of fluid

Confused about how the surgeon couldn't honor Padre Pio's request of not studying his wounds, so that Padre Pio could have the anesthesia and thus reduce his sufferings????????

Excruciating… this week I came across the cause of such stones. It is diet related as the body works to excrete oxalates from plants like dark leafy greens, grains and nuts. These oxalates travel rapidly from the liver to heart and lungs and combine with calcium and other minerals to form crystals throughout the body. These are of no use by the body and excreted even by the skin and eyes but primarily from the kidneys. Long term exposure overwhelms the body and robs it of electrolytes causing tiredness and malaise. Oxalate dumping can be accomplished thru meat based diet and takes typically seven years. The process is quite dangerous since these crystals can trigger cancer. It seems we are not designed to consume plants long term
