The amazing thing about BG Tavern 1 and 2 is that it sounds like it was actually recorded in a tavern from a fantasy world. The others eighter sound too clean and flawless or rely too much on sampled sound effects

Capturing that fantasy feeling of Baldurs Gate is so incredibly hard and no other rpg has done that for me again ever since.

Smoldering Corpse Bar theme is fuckin incredible. Strange, mysterious, sad in some way. I still remember when i first came to that tavern some 14 years ago and listened to Baatezu story about Blood War with that music playing in background, amazing stuff.

omg i just remembered that... one of many precious and almost forgotten moments of my childhood.. Planescape Torment was full of such amazing, beatiful parts

@@ygazz one of the first rpgs where I was actually invested in the lore and was excited to talk to people. And thankfully the whole game is a talking simulator so it was all good.

Can't believe this video and its sequels are a decade old! I remember listening to this when I was barely a teenager, planning my rp characters and writing my stories. I'll always come back to these - they're a real dose of nostalgia.

I've been listening to this compilation every once in a while for almost 4 years now. It's gotten to the point where the compilation itself starts bringing back memories and I think of which song is going to transition in next. Such great music.

Baldur's Gate taverns ftw :) I just love how the environments are drawn and how fitting the music is. It's very immersive in that respect and it achieves it without today's graphical fidelity. Another musically awesome game is Rome: Total War :D

When I feel depressed or down in any way, I come listen to these compilations, and I just feel alright again. Reminds me of all these awesome games I used to play a lot growing up, and all the great D&D sessions I had. Elf Song Tavern is my favorite!

Danke für die Compilations. Erinnert mich an viele tolle Stunden die ich in den meisten Spielen verbracht habe. Viele der Songs habe ich bewusst nie war genommen, aber sobald man sie hört, erinnert man sich wieder an die Momente.

Hmm, this was quite a stroll down memory lane. Somehow you instantly recognize the music even if you don't remember the game. It was nice to listen to some of the really old ones as well, even though they were before my time.

Mm Smoldering Corpse Bar.. Probably the most interesting bar in any RPG. Of course Planescape: Torment had A LOT of interesting places filled with lore.

All of these really set the mood inside the tavern. Sunkeoun flagon is the tune I often hum. What I'd give for the return of these games where the adventure is very much alive. * sigh *

A desperate cry out. Don't have hope but still... Back in the days of vanilla WoW they had an astounding music in the first undead tavern, in Brill of Tirisfall Glades. They changed it unfortunately to some soothing tunes after some update. But the original one - it hunts me till these days.

Nice! I always love the pseudo-mediaeval tracks in RPG taverns. The Dragon Age 2 ones are cool too (day and night). I shall be adding this to my "Tavern" playlist (yes, it exists, though is a bit of a mix of random stuff). :D

Wow, that's some awesome job you've done here. There's nothing that can bring some good memories than a good soundtrack. And the best soundtrack is the one that blends in the game so that you notice it only after you hear it without the game =)
