If you are into homage,s but bored of endless Rolex and the occasional Omega, why not try new, Tudor flavour! Ha! Pretty solid for the money, I have to keep reminding myself that these are just over $100 and would have blown my mind when I started the channle 4 years ago. Case finish is a bit rough, and they could have deleted the divers' extension and toned down the fauxtina, but apart from that, thumbs up. Oh, and Happy Birthday Dad! Cheers, Jody

That’s unfair, I recently spent 1200€ on a Seiko and it lines up like 80%. And the bracelet doesn’t rattle either (as long as it’s sitting on my nightstand).

@@theredspoon1763 True. My last watch was 180€ (about 200$ I guess) and I considered it several times - whether there is something I need more. My 5€ watch from Lidl, 100€ Aliexpress homage and 10.000€ Rolex show the same time, so I don't understand watch snobs at all.

@@DominikFerencik Same goes for ultra-expensive cars, clothing or what have you. If money doesn't matter, other things become important. Usually these reasons aren't understood by us ordinary people. Talking about the 5€ discounter watch: don't dare to repair! You usually don't find datasheets for the movement, thus if the hands aren't properly mounted or fall of you will have no information as to which size you need to replace them - and don't get me started on waterproof issues.

I have this watch (red, paid about $100usd), put on a burgundy leather strap and can honestly say it's every bit as beautiful as a Tudor, but...now I can have the watch plus a premium 85" TV.

I seem to going 'backwards' on my watch-collecting journey (not that I set out to collect). Perhaps unusually, I started with the typical higher-end watches, Rolex, Breitling and so on. However, lately, I simply can't resist the smaller brands, and the quite incredible value they offer for the price. Pagani Design are stupidly cheap, and given the price, the quality is outstanding. I would suggest buying a homage piece before splashing out on the 'real' thing' - you might discover that the massive price difference just cannot be justified.

Same here! Started with Omega (Moonwatch will always be my favorite) and after my next career milestone I plan on buying a Rolex Explorer. But I can't ignore Pagani it simply looks amazing! Perfection no, but the value you're getting at that price point is ridiculous.

Finally pulled the trigger on this one. Arrived yesterday after the sale, so well under £100. Initial impressions are that this is the best made PD I’ve bought so far; everything aligns, nice bracelet and excellent lume (for a PD). So, happy so far even if they did send the red bezel insert rather than the black, which is what I asked for 😬

Great review, Jody! Personally, I'd love to see Pagani hit this one with a shrink ray to bring it down to the size of the smaller 39mm Tudor BB (and of course bring down the weight as well).

I absolutely love this watch and pulled the trigger on the black/gilt version. I love your videos and am super excited about receiving my watch from AliExpress. I only wish someone would do one of these videos on the black version. There are at least six videos on the new Pagani BB 58 homage, and not a single one shows the black version in person. Hoping SOMEONE will provide this for those of us who purchased the black one. Either way, I LOVE your videos and will keep coming back for more great watches and information. Thanks again Jody!

This ones in the mail now! Happy to see the review came in so quick now I can feel a bit better about what to expect. Seems like a solid $109 spent. I’m glad pagani stepped up their game for my first pagani model. I’m curious to see when the addies dive pilots type a pilot “le petit prince” homage review will drop cause that is starting to look like the best $65 dollars spent but that is also in the mail.

I bought 2 watches from Pagani recently, a Tag Hauer Aquaracer lookalike and the Seiko Meca that you reviewed in another video. Both for the price of one Vincero. I love them both

I like that this is somewhere between a downright clone and something like my Phoibos Wavemaster (which has clearly taken most of its design cues from the Sub and the Seamaster). This one’s not purely a Black Bay but cheap, it’s got something else thrown in there too, maybe not as much as the Phoibos, but certainly on the spectrum. Good artists clone, great artists steal as they (sorta) say!

Happy birthday Jody's dad! 🎂 As for this watch, it's a bit of a missed opportunity. I wish they had made it a little smaller but my main gripe is the waffle dial pattern. I like it on a Seiko diver but on a Tudor homage it looks a bit out of place in my opinion. But I very much enjoyed the review. Cheers Jody 👍

Very neat, the waffle dial and pelagos indices give it a little bit of its own personality than if it was a straight copy. I usually stick with 40mm or less for my divers but I have to strongly consider this one before the Ali sale ends.

Interesting. I have bought one recently and mine has a full steel caseback. I guess Pagani changes the properties of the watches in order of what materials they have currently on stock. But besides I really love the look of this watch.

I quite like the blue one, the other is a bit busy with black/red/gilt going on. Got a new PD-1639 in Green yesterday. Got to be honest, I'm impressed! Bezel lines up, very little backplay. Bracelet was dead easy to size and there are no marks or blemishes that I can see at least. Crown tightens nicely and the cyclops might be a teeeeeeeny bit misaligned but nothing to weep about. Your reviews of these microbrands has really changed my opinion of little heard of watches, as the Phoibos PX002C I have is also really impressive.

Thanks for the great video. Just picked up the red bezel PD and threw in a Omega seamaster homage at $204 for both, including tax by using your coupon and a Honey promo code. Which I was surprised they charge tax. Will have to see if there are import fees on it as well.

I bought the burgundy/gilt dial version as my third or fourth Pagani a couple years ago and it is one of only three (along with the Speedy v3 and the Autavia-esque) that I haven't sold or given away. Not bad, Pagani... not bad. I do like something that strays away from the Rolexomega theme that is so prevalent in homage watches and I like that they mix things up just enough that even if you put the original name on the dial, the difference would be spotted because, well... it's different enough that it just isn't quite a direct clone of a single model. On mine, the bezel action isn't awesome but that's not a high value item for me. Alignment is perfect and as mentioned, it actually has usable lume! It looks great on wrist. I wear mine on a distressed chestnut leather strap and honestly, it really looks fantastic. I'm not sure why this and the Tag Autavia-ish PD-1649) weren't more popular.

I have 6 1/4 inch wrists so I am going to wait for a smaller Pagani "Black Bay 58" version. BTW thanks for sharing your dads birthday I lost my dad in March of 2003 and miss him greatly he wore a Bulova watch when I was kid back in the late 50s early 60s.

Great review! The diagonal waffle is from the Tudor 1926. So this is a mix of three different Tudor models.

My Birthday is coming up 4/6. I have the Tudor Burgundy. I have had it for few years 2018. Been using it a lot. Some wear and tear on the bracelet and clasp. Going to give it a break by buying this Pagani Homage. I like it a little rough looking. Adds to its charm.

..but a bb58 is 39mm and under 12thick. This will wear very differently. But I do think this watch looks nice, the dial is textured and has applied indices which look awesome. JOMW should review a islander watch and also do a sub $400 dive watch battle

For 110 not bad but the San Martin BB58 I just reviewed is much better in every aspect although more expensive. Would be interested to see their explorer II and recently released Omega PO homages.

I got mine yesterday, I was not so lucky this time around. The bracelet on mine was sharp and edgy. It also was a real hair nipper. Two of the bracelets links had the treads gone, so the pins fell out. Luckily I also removed 3 links. Other links had just a couple of turns on the screw before it buttom in, so feels like it will not be to secure. The watch was OK. The bezel is mega off though, half a click. Not to happy.

I was thinking about buying a Tudor black bay with the red bezel, but I wasn't in love with it. I think this might scratch the itch and if I don't love it it's not going to break the bank!
