Paul Cesak's Pagosa Creek Timber Company ON3 layout is a true master piece in the model railroad world. This fully automated model railroad and it's craftsman buildings is a true delight to visit and watch operate.

Paul, I spent every summer from 1957 to around 1961 in Pagosa… we originally stayed at Dorothy and Lucy's "Lazy Acres Guest Ranch". Those two built 7 log cabins for tourists right after the war. Used to see Fred Harman of Red Ryder fame at the 4th of July parades. Fished like wild in the San Juan River, and many trips through Gem Village and on over to Durango… Fantastic train layout… I'm just starting again with a 1947 Lionel 2025 passenger rig. Your work is an inspiration for me and many others I suspect.

The detail is amazing. Question: so all points were wired back to that one panel? Thanks for posting this.

Indeed. And both throttles are also homemade and on the board. Computer has 256 stopping points between 1.2 and 12 volts for each throttle....controlled either by the keyboard, an I-Phone, or the run-time program built with Visual basic 6

Very nice work, i want to do a coal mine as i have an area on my o gauge garden train that has trucks being loaded with coal so i figure ill do something like a ant farm with glass so you can see the mine works underground and on3 delivering the coal loads to dumping area via a point to point system. Be using magnets and switch system because of the light outside and weather.

Paul, this is an amazing layout to say the least! I was one of the 'hoard' that visited your layout during the Huston Narrow Gauge Convention in '16. I still study my photos of your layout often, for ideas and inspiration! What I was wondering though: Do you have a track plan that you'd be willing to share? Also, what are the dimensions of your layout room? Cheers!
@PaulCesak5 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben. Thanks for the compliments. I do have a plan but not sure where it is. I have now punched out through the closet in the train room and have expanded into the room next door. Bigger radii to run a DRGW C-25.
