It's literally the fear to a mayor power what's preventing other villages to wage war

The moment when pain said "Those who dont know pain will never understand true peace" before destoying the village actually makes sense now with some thinking. We live in a peaceful times because of the past, Countries use nukes and saw how big the damage is which made them fear it. Those who have experience with that damage knows that pain of using one so wars have stopped temporarily. Those are from a long time ago and most people that know that pain either passed away or in old age. So people now dont know what nukes can cause so we are nearing the part where humans will start war again and after that will have momentary peace from experiencing the same pain. The cycle continues like what is pain is saying now. We are not smart enough to just accept one another because of Racism, Conflicts, Past events, and etc. I somehow just put this show in a reality because what Pain said was the most realistic thing we have in our world so far. For people that is saying "That would never work blah blah blah you bad guy we love naruto he mc", Look at our world now, This is the world what pain would have wanted to have peace. We've got a ton of awesome lines and speeches in naruto . But this has a very special place . Why ? Cause it shapes naruto as an mc . Ofc he's goofy . He's mostly joking but that " no . I don't have an answer " just screams emptiness . A sign of not knowing what's right or wrong . Naruto was completely lost in PAIN until minato pulled up and taught his son a lesson from after life . 🔥 Then naruto's character became more than just a wishing to be hokage and acknowledgment or ideal peace . Pain's ideologies are feasible, they are reasonable things to do. Pain isnt contradicting himself when he starts referring to himself as "an ordinary Man" ( he's dropping his pretense of beeing a "God" to truly have a heart-to-heart conversation with naruto as fellow disciples because he truly wants Naruto to understand his motives and see things from his perspectives ). We as the audience generally or all of Us side with Naruto and the hidden Leaf because they're the "main characters" of the story. Pain is "GIVING VOICE" to others here in the world that also suffer. I totally agree when Pain says "Humans are not the most intelligent creatures", due to the fact that we're essently a virus on the planet because we literatelly destroy other species and the environment of our planet, so That's right, biologically speaking pain is more than 100% correct. On the other hand, From our perspective (human perspective) pain is mad because he wants to Destroy nations and people? ( but That's The same thing the Leaf has done and Big countries do today in our real world as well , How Can You possibly deny That? Pain is "GIVING VOICE" to other nations (in this case he means especially small nations, like his, which was devasted because the War The Leaf Started in the First place) Why is it ONLY Far And OK for the hidden Leaf to have peace and justice when everybody else in The world also suffer Pain?? Lmao Pain is calling out the hipocrisy Naruto and The Leaf are trying to justify themselves (That part When pain talked to Tsunade, he said "Your peace has Only brought violence upon us all" That's what he means, That they're (The Leaf) are hypocrites as HELL. Pain's Idea for achieving peace IS MAD (mutually assured destruction), which is the same system thats in place in OUR REAL WORLD today to deter nuclear War. He wants a world where M.A.D will keep the peace for a while and when it breaks, when people use tail Beats, they"ll experience pain again, and That pain will force them to Go back to the period of peace. This will continue over and over, that pain will keep humanities violent Nature in check, allowing peace to exist. You can definitely disagree with Pain's ideias of achieving peace because they're Pretty extreme from our perspective, however with his speech You Just can't, because he's spitting Facts here. Pain's character is a masterpiece completely, he's a character Very grounded in realism. An Epic Villain. For me he's One The Best Creations in all fiction honestly, not only The greatest written Naruto character, Itachi, Sasuke, madara, kakashi And all The others are after Pain in this aspect imo. He's number One, If It werent for him, this show wouldnt be this Good you Cant argue with this, he gave The Best Arc to Entire the series.

He keeps seeking for a better answer but until he finds it , he's not gonna sit still . One of the main reasons why nations do not go carelessly into war nowadays is because of nuclear bombs. Without it, this relative peace we are enjoying now would not last as long as it does.

When we were all blinded by forgetting the things heroes did like the villains, when heroes got their revenge they got rewarded with recognition when villains got their revenger they're called a monster. Just erase the role of a villain on Pein's face and I finally understood his words.

Pain predicted the modern state of affairs. Imagine his speech would go like this: "I will create a powerful weapon and give it to the great nations and they'll use it to instill fear in 1945. In time it no longer will be a deterrent and that is why in 2023 they will use the weapon against each other and reconfirm what true peace is. And then in this cycle of hatred begetting more hatred pain will give rise to momentary peace on a nuclear ruins of the Earth. Humans are not the most intelligent of creatures after all."

To be fair... what Pain said is very true even in the real world. For Yuval Herrari, a world historian, stated that due to increase of nuclear weapons, countries became more reluctant in engaging wars due to how destructive it is. It's strikingly similar to the Tailed Beast Weapon Pain wanted to get his hands on to achieve peace. It's not ideal, but it's reality and a sustainable one, even though it's absolutely terrifying

Everything Pain says about the cycle of hatred is directly applicable to how we have treated each other in real life. It was only after horrendous wars that we ever have a moment of peace.

The pains idea of achieving peace through tailed beast weapon is exactly what we people follow in present days. If the nuclear weapons had never been created then the world would have always been on wars. The only thing that has prevented us from going to war is the fear of nuclear bomb.

Pretty clearly a reference to modern day proxy wars as well as the threat of nuclear weapons. Went over my head when I was younger, but it hit me as an adult and it gave me new respect for the series.

Nagato/pain is arguably one of the best villains in anime.

Pain's version of peace is basically MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction).

In real life, we live in the peace that Pain believes in, the one brought about by a super weapon, the atomic bomb, and the fear we have of it.

If you think about it....it took Itachi,Naruto and bee to defeat pain in his prime....that explains why jiraya thought that he would bring about peace in that world aka a prodigy.....a very well written character,just like the others.
