@@elite6374 but more than being desensitized, shouldn't you be pretty good at telling when someone is faking? plus the context of the patient's background? like seeing a grown average, before this, healthy male in his best years bawling his eyes out screaming... yeah, like it usually takes a Lot to make a grown-ass man literally really cry out loud with tears not to mention HIS MOM WAS A FUCKING NURSE

I was told to go to the nearest gas station and buy Ibuprofen; which would send me on a walk to the complete opposite end of the city. He completely dismissed me. This was even in Denmark.. Reasonable, but I think this video has the takeaway that shit happens, things are unfair, and you can't control certain elements in life. But to grow strong from what life deals you. It wasn't necessarily the Doctor's fault, so I don't think we should be pissed off at them maliciously, especially since Markiplier doesn't hold any resentment towards that Doctor. Yeah, reminds me that there was one time when I was in 5th grade, week before Spring Break, my throat was really fucking sore so I went to the nurse. She checks my throat and says that it was a bit red, but nothing bad. So I went back to class and went throughout my day, and went back to the nurse right after we were all going outside for recess and said my throat was still red, but this time my head was hurting and I was running a fever, but she didn't make much of a big deal of it, so I slept in the nurse's office the rest of the day. After I woke up, I went back to class, where I felt sick and was sent home. So my mom takes me to the doctor and I got diagnosed with Strep Throat. My school nurse saw that I was most likely sick, but did not think to call my mom when she saw I was running a fever and that my throat was red.

I remember in the 3rd grade, we were outside and there was this kid being bullied. The bully pushed the kid and as he fell he hit his forehead on an exposed top of a screw at the playground and busted his head wide open. Blood was *pouring* from his head like a faucet and obviously he needed stitches. Me and another kid took this kid to the nurse's office and instead of calling for an ambulance or something she gives the kid a rag and an ice pack. 😐

@@daviclemons6910 I've watched the whole video and I know what he's talking about. I had a finding similar happen to me in a hospital. Pain that is so horrible you can do nothing but cry and cry and your somewhere where they are supposed to help you but they don't. They didn't help I actually tried to walk out the door ended up falling outside and being taken back in, then they helped. The problem with pain is it's subjective, a pain person A might have might not seem as bag to person B. Also the is a big difference to someone being in severe pain for a week and another that's been in pain for several years. But pain at a constant high level isn't just something you can 'shake off'. My pain has changed me into a different person, being happy is rather hard when you feel like you have a white hot knife in your back. ALL THE TIME and there's nothing you can do but breath and try to relax....

The fact that the doctors didn't listen to the patient, the patient's family, and the patients *NURSES* tells me that those people should not be doctors. There are ways to report malpractice without going straight to a lawsuit, and I really wish someone would have held this hospital responsible for their willful negligence. It worries me to think how they might be treating other patients since then.

@@gothgirlgaming9050 Reporting for negligence/malpractice is not the same as suing. The doctors who treated Mark could and should be held accountable for not believing their patient, and the determination of said negligence/malpractice would be done by the state's medical board, not a civil court. Mark would only have to recount his experience (like he did in this video) and the hospital would have the records from his stay to corroborate that testimony. It's not about getting money/revenge, it's about holding people who are responsible for others' lives accountable for unprofessional behavior, and protecting patients. That being said, the medical board could have found the doctors at no fault, or determined that the pharmacy was ultimately at fault. However, reporting these cases is important; people have and unfortunately will continue to die due to doctors not believing their patients' pain (for whatever reason: bias, sexism, racism, cynicism, etc). Sorry for the mountain of text, but I've also had family experience with doctors not believing, or straight up lying to my relatives about their pain/treatments, so it's a bit of a hot topic for me.
@Tink00

@@gothgirlgaming9050 It's not about revenge, or money. It's about making sure that they don't do this to anyone else again. Usually all that happens is the doctors are notified of the complaint, and at the very least they get to question their own behavior.

I really agree. They should have been reported. It is never okay for a doctor to treat a patient like that. It's strange that when he said he was in so much pain that the doctors and nurses didn't double check what drugs he was on. Especially when his family was there, one of them being a retired nurse, and they were all telling the doctors and nurses that something was wrong. So incredibly messed up. Just because they're doctors doesn't mean they're perfect. There are plenty of bad doctors and they need to be held accountable.

When I was three year old, my mom was cheating on my dad. My father hired a private detective, because he had a feeling. He started tapping her phone and her emails. Just that you know, my dad is not the jealous type. But he is really good in reading people. The day before my dad was going away for the night my mom called the police and said my dad was going to hurt her the next day, in the specific time. When my dad went away to go and pool for the night, and drink a bit (not drunk). My mom closed all the doors and windows to HIS house so he couldn’t get in. He came back, and she got upstairs were I was and grabbed me. My dad needed to punch in the window of my fathers and mothers bedroom. He started looking for my mom and me. He saw her sitting against the wall, and when he came close she started screaming. And hold ME up as protection. And then the police came with the whole police force (because my dad is a hunter, so he had a gun which is a big deal where I live). He surrendered and spend the night in jail, but everyone knows my dad, he never abused his wife or child. He even had proof, because my mom talked with her cheating partner about the plan. But the time my dad spent in jail my mom left with me. And kidnapped my for two weeks. No one knew where I was or where she was. The court in the end said I would life with my mom. My mom was manipulating me and my feelings, I couldn’t cry at home (it wasn’t allowed). Saturday’s I worked 12 hours days when I could (when I was like 10), and when I was younger I was always sleeping at my teachers houses, I was always home alone even at night. I became really independent. So when I was 8, i started planning with my dad to call the child security which had the power to say I was going to life with my dad. When I was 9 it finally happened the child security came to talk, they talked with my school my mom me etc. my school was always behind my mom for some reason and they didn’t listen to me. So I stayed with my mom, and the first couple weeks my mom was really mad at me. So my dad and I started planning that when I was twelve we would sue my mom to get my dad custody. (When you’re twelve in our country you get some kind of vote for were you wanna live). I turned twelve, and Easter is really closed after my birthday. So with Easter I would go to my dad, so I did. My dad invited my mom to my dads house. My dad said that I would not go home with her and she was going to hear from my dads lawyers. My mom was so mad. I was upstairs just waiting in fear. So after the trail and me talking to a lot of people of different institutions. I could live with my dad, that moment my mom said she would only want to see me if I were to go to a therapist. Because there was something wrong in my head. Since then I have seen my mom once, and when I saw her she said she never let me work. And she said I lied about everything. I’m 14, almost 15 now. I haven’t seen her in 2/3 years. And I probably never gone see her again. My mom is and was a manipulative woman, I don’t want her to be called my mom. I did it in this comment for the convenience. Because I grew up like an adult, and like someone who was not allowed to show emotions. I don’t feel emotions, or I feel them a lot less. I became good at lying and manipulating. And I hate being treated like a child. The family on the side of my mom are disgusted by me. And that was not my worst pain, because I don’t feel pain there. My worst pain is not feeling it, not feeling emotions and not being able to understand other people emotions. I think that’s my biggest pain, I will never be sure.

I feel like this video should motivate me. It should make me feel like I CAN get through the pain I have right now. But… it doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it definitely makes me hurt in the best way, but like… “what you put into it is what you get out of it…” I AM putting in anger and pointing fingers… I KNOW it won’t help anything… but even if I don’t WANT to I can’t STOP. Like mark, I don’t believe in petty revenge, but still. “How you respond to the pain is what defines you.” In my mind, at this moment, that means all I am is a kid with no clue. I mean, sometimes I make a fool of myself, acting sooo mature as a 13 year old, but hearing mark say something so true like that just punches me in the gut. I’m sure one day it will help me in the greatest ways imaginable, mark has helped me already. But right now, it’s just telling me that I’m turning into the person I swore I’d never become

I'm currently going through the most painful experience of my life in heartbreak. 2.5 years of commitment, suffering to stay together and be together. A fight that I thought was mutual and a person who has been in emotional, mental, and physical pain all their life. She betrayed me, chose someone else over me and we still have to live together and sleep together. But I refuse to let anger be the motivator for me to be here for this person and do better for myself. I want to love myself like I love them. I want to come out of this from a place of love and forgiveness, and refusal to let my heart be consumed by anger and resentment. Thank you for this video, 4 years later Mark. I have a lot of work to do for myself and this whole thing is the universe telling me that it's time to get started.

The day after my dad's open heart surgery, I went in to visit him and he told the nurses he was in a lot of pain. He kept pressing the morphine button and he was telling them that it wasn't working on him at all. After a few minutes I walked around to sit on a chair and I saw liquid on the floor under the IV. I was 16 at the time and told my half brother and he looked, and then he went and told the nurses. AND apparently the IV had a fucking leak and he wasn't even getting any morphine after OPEN HEART surgery! I was so furious. The nurses were all acting like my dad was a big baby when in fact he was so strong for handling pain that he shouldn't have been forced to handle.

DO THEY NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THEIR DAMN JOB AND ACTUALLY CHECK THE BAG!? ITS NOT THAT HARD TO SPOT A LEAK AND A THEN 16 YEAR OLD CAN SEE A DAMN LEAK! Sorry I may have overreacted but studying nursing and you literally know that you HAVE to check the back throughly even if it seems stupid, because that bag could be your patients last saving grace. You're not the person that we deserve but you sure as hell are the person we need. - - - - - - And to the question of pain, I don't think any of my physical or emotional hardships are anywhere close to any of the stories here. My pain is insignificant compared to the stories I've heard. - - - But If anyone wants to have a similar thing validated I'll mention my own. I suffer from stomach pains and depending on my choices I can either make them worse or be fine. But the worst time that I had one, it was such a severe pain in my lower abdomen. It was only a moment after the pain started that I developed fever-like symptoms and then I started to shake pretty badly. I had to ride it out because I didn't know what more I could do. Or maybe you want something silly? I fell through play equipment and split my eyelid in half (horizontally) At first I had no clue what was happening but I knew I was bleeding or something. Anyway, I'm taken to the hospital by my mum and I realise that I had a new ability to see the world in red(I no longer see red of course).

When I was about 9 I had the most violent cough for months. It wouldn't go away. So my mom took me to the doctor who concluded that I only did cough to get attention (since we recently moved). I don't remember him saying that since I was basically delirious at the time. So a few weeks later my father ask my mother what became of the visit by the doc and why I was still coughing. My mother told him that I was faking it. To which my dad took me to a specialist that quickly realized that I a lung infection basically in the end stages. I have a troubled relationship to my mother and I think it started there.

HERE IS THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here's a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God's name in vain? Jesus said, ”Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” if you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called H***. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God's law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: ”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you!

When he said there can be positive outcomes from things like pain and depression all I could think of was how depressed I was and how it made me who I am. I am so much more confident now because of what I went through because I realized that even if others hate me for being myself, if I'm not, I'm just going to be miserable anyway so what does it matter what they think. And now I have better friends that I have ever had before and I appreciate myself so much more because of what I went through. If I hadn't gotten as depressed as I did, I wouldn't have the friends I have now, I would still be quiet and afraid to have fun, and I never would have discovered my love of dancing. I relate so much to him saying that he's better for what he's gone through because he knows he's stronger now. And that's what pain can show us, if we let it. We are all stronger than we realize.
