I never get to see Oilers media from an outside perspective, but I know they were all overconfident going into the series. That said, I think Vancouver fans started taking the Oilers a bit too lightly before this game. I feel like reasonable people see this as a close series and both teams deserve great respect - both have a decent chance at the cup right now even if it might look like Dallas's year.

Although hindsight is 20/20, it was recently revealed that a game 7 was more likely than an end tonight. 4 nearly simultaneous game 6 series endings does not happen often. And the difference here is that Edmonton has more playoff experience and knows better now than to let up. Vancouver has some lessons yet be to learned.

Everyone is over looking one major factor. This is the first game Silov had some weak goals. As a goalie who has played incredible but has no experience, this might shake his confidence.

Oilers fan here...to be fair, I am not sure either team will get through a rested healthy Dallas team that did not have nearly as an intense 2nd Round.....Vancouver vs Edmonton series was mutually assured destruction for Round 3.

Difference was the oilers didn’t show up at all in game 5 and Vancouver played amazing. Game 6 the oilers showed up and when that happens they are clearly the better team. Question is which oilers team shows up for game 7……

In Game 5, nucks would apply pressure in the neutral zone and prevent Oilers from getting the rush. Today they let the Oilers dominate the neutral zone and didn’t do much of the forechecking Tocchet praised them for last time.

At least the PK is good. This team has exceeded expectations, so no matter what happens on Monday I’m proud of them. Canucks brought the so called “cup favourites” to 7 games without their all star goalie, so that says a lot.

Silovs has absolutely carried Van. They wouldn't even be in the 2nd round without him and would have been swept this round without him. Vans stars just didn't show up all playoffs. Maybe they will in game 7 though.

Not surprised Vancouver Canucks lazy play has been going on forever..What a disappointment to their coach and fanbase ..They played alright in game 5 but that's all they have in the tank

Both fan bases just love to say their team lost the game rather than admit the other team played well and forced the other into error. But this series on both sides has been a very good hard fought battle. And I'm proud there's a game 7 and either will go through! Both teams had 2 really good games. And both teams had 1 really crappy game! And with 1 to play its as even as even gets! Let's go Oilers! Finish this off

As an oiler fan.. if the script was flipped the Canucks just spanked us in game 6 to force game 7 I'd be terrified no matter what. Wrong time to let a team feel dominant like that. Momentum and confidence is key to another Win!

@@andrewcotton421 if you are playin the Hawks then yes if you let them feel good it's a problem..... if you are playing high scoring teams they are eventually gonna score some goals in a game.... that's gonna happen. Much like a baseball team getting smoked by 10+ runs, the next game is a completely different game. Skinner was barely even tested that game and Oilers fans thinking the Canucks care about him lol.....I've seen many posts on this subject.

Yes, but champions will get the job done with shots on net. I will say this as it’s true for every sport, gotta get it done in the postseason and some teams are built for regular season play and some are built for the postseason and vice versa. Vancouver is not the postseason kind with such lack of shots.
