When you talk about abnormal period pain that impacts your daily life, do you mean with or without medication ? I for instance, have really painful periods, but the pain responds effectively to NSAIDS. If it wasn’t for NSAIDS, I would not be able to leave the house because the pain gets really intense for like 3 hours, where I have to lay down and I can pass out from the pain. I usually cramp only on my first day though

This is EXACTLY me! That 3 hour window on the first day of my cycle is debilitating. A heating pad and ibuprofin helps alleviate my discomfort.

Your channel has been part of my healing journey. I’ll be having excision surgery for endometriosis in about a month from now. It’s people like you that made me realize my pain isn’t normal and I finally took steps to receive care. Thank you Dr. Crawford 🙏🏼

I had excision surgery 6 years ago and it changed my life!! I've had no period pain, no bloating, and no issues conceiving since. It was a rough recovery initially, but once I healed it improved my quality of life so much. I hope it does the same for you!

I had laparoscopic surgery where endometriosis was diagnosed and removed back in 2019. 3months after I felt pregnant with my 3yo son. We stared trying about a year ago but since then I have had 2 miscarriages. First due to Down síndrome and second an anembriomoc pregnancy. Our fertility specialist suggest that Endo might be back and suggested new surgery as this could be be cause of poor egg quality therefore miscarriages. My husband has very low T and there is suspicion of high DNA fragmentation. My question is: when should I have this new surgery before or after we understand my husbands so sperm. I was told endo can come back after 4 months of surgery which is not long. Not sure what to do.

My periods are only painful on the first day for a couple hours. Would you say my estrogen is low? Tested on cycle day 4. 27 years old. AMH: 4 FSH: 10 Estradiol: 23 Progesterone CD21 : 13

Hi. So about 7 years ago I was having a lot of pain, and my ultrasound revealed adenomyosis. About two years after that I had another ultrasound prior to getting an IUD in, and they said they saw no signs of adenomyosis anymore. So fast forward to 2022 my husband and I are now trying to conceive and having difficulty, it's been over 1 year so we are now starting fertility tests, but my question is could the adenomyosis from many years ago have caused damage to my uterus or fallopian tubes, causing us to have issues conceiving? I know there are many possibilities for our troubles, but is that even remotely a possibility?

Omg I can't believe you wrote this! The exact same thing happened to me with the exact same diagnosis of adenomyosis back in 2016. I had a scan recently as I'm ttc - to which they now said they didn't see the adenomyosis ?? It never crossed my mind if a previous adenomyosis may be a cause for infertility until I saw your question! Now I really need to know the answer to this as well! 😮😅

@azmisazmazingworld wow that's so crazy! I totally forgot to ask my Dr last time I was there a few weeks ago. But if I had adenomyosis at some point and it resolved (which seems weird to me but okay) and it can cause scarring... it would make sense to me that it could affect fertility later.. but idk I could be totally off! Lol. Hopefully she can respond soon. And best of luck to you with TTC!

@laurengillison723 Thanks you too! It is all so crazy and sad to know the way women's fertility is impacted negatively and what we have to go through to achieve a pregnancy 😢 But best wishes to you and everyone ttc ! ❤

My partner has debilitating periods [her last one she said was a 10/10 pain, the worst she's felt in her life], but doctors have not taken her seriously. Do you have any recommendations for her to find a doctor that will take her pain seriously and find the cause of her period pains?

My doctors didn’t take me seriously until I underwent IVF. They ended up discovering I had fibroids and I finally got them removed. Now my periods are not so bad. Wish they had simply taken me seriously years previously

Definitely track and log symptoms, be prepared for the long process of seeing multiple doctors until one takes her seriously, make sure to take notes during appointments/come with here due to the prevalence of medical gaslighting and sexism that exists within this field, also ask for copies of appointment notes especially if she’s not being taken seriously
