Paint a Moonlit Sea in Gouache Tutorial

This pretty moonlit sea is a great way to try out some cool blending techniques in gouache using only prussian blue, white and black.
Materials used:
-Canson Heritage cold press block
-Kingart Gold Series brushes
-M. Graham gouache

I love how the sparkly reflected light on the water is spaced so perfectly to imply distance. It really helps make the water seem vast. Gorgeous work!

Could you please do more gouache cloud tutorials? Cloud is the single hardest thing for me to paint I'd love to paint fluffy clouds with all the different colors blended together but when I try to paint cloud it looks like someone accidentally spilled a bunch of paint on the paper and then stepped on it 😥

Absolutely! Just take your time and give it a go! If you are fairly new to gouache, give my rainy lake tutorial a go first: it’s a really good introduction to a lot of basic gouache techniques! 💕

Thank you! The paper is a Canson Heritage cold press block and the mop brush I use is an oval mop by Kingart!

May I please ask you what type of tape do you use? I am searching for something like this and as well something finer for separating my pages in to sections. As I have only masking tape and Is really wide and I need to cut it on half at least.
