Love the ceramic pro wax and the detox. I used them on both of my last details. One truck I used it on was too big to fit in my garage. I had to turn it away from the sun and let the panels cool down before I put it on. Had to wait for the sun to get behind my house to apply to roof and hood. Great video on how to use both products. Great thing is on cars if you are using a DA, you can apply to the whole car before wiping off, large trucks maybe half or two-thirds. I have been impressed with every ethos product I’ve used. Great video as always.👍🏻👍🏻

Phil i havent noticed....WAHT A GREAT IDEA AND TIP..............to remove any potential marring from clay mitt (i usually use clay bar if i dont do correction and mitt if i do some type of correction) but i never thought that if i apply the wax with a very light pad like black, i can also remove any light marring from the mitt and at the same time i am applyng the wax!!!!! what a great tip, i suppose we get advantage of the very very light cut of the black pads to remove the ligh marr........... Great tips on applying wax with a polisher. I’ve used Ethos Pro CW both by hand and polisher; using your tips, I should be able to save more time with the polisher. Here’s a tip back to you: I found the Ethos Pro CW applied easier with a foam applicator than microfiber when applying by hand. Spreads thinner. It is a breeze to wipe off no matter which way you apply it!

Great work Phil something I always do with a clay bar is I keep the whole bar when claying and when the surface gets contaminated I take a cheese cutting life and just grind off the top surface, I find it makes the bar last longer and it reduces the amount of marring the bar leaves. I was one of those ones who found that the Ethos product wasn't lasting very long. I got about a week out of it with "normal" early fall driving. I got about a week out of it before it seemed to basically disappear. The only thing that wasn't done was a 'detox' wipe before applying the wax. It's still hard for me to believe that a wipedown before applying the coating, wax, or sealant is that important after it's been clayed and polished.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
That’s what I was expecting also. But I was pleasantly surprised. Plus the first batch of this wax was defective so that messed things up. But I think it’s good now.

So at what point do you decide to use your wash and clay mit process? Its seems extremely efficient to do that with any paint enhancement and or correction? Given how much dirt the clay bar was picking up in the rear, it would seem your normal wash process would've of worked well.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
For all of our full details, paint enhancements or corrections we usually do that becasue we will be either polishing or machine applying a wax or sealant and it will remove any marring left behind. For maintenance washes we won’t use the clay mitt or clay bar at all.

@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Hi. Clay bars come in a few different grades usually heavy medium and fine. I always use the fine clay because I really don’t need anything more aggressive than that. Unless I’m doing some overspray removal I’ll use some heavy clay. The clay bars will tell you on the packaging what grade they are.

Until like the hundred gram ones would be what you're talking about? Would you also use the clay bar before use the clay mitt and what's the difference between using the clay bar and the clay mitt
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
The grams is just the weight of the clay bars not the aggressiveness. I usually use the clay mitt for the top surfaces because it covers a large surface area. And try clay bar for the bottom surfaces becasue it’s worse on those areas. The clay bar usually is slightly. Ore aggressive than the flat mitt even though they may say they are both fine grade. It’s just personal choice and method really.

The equal to USA i think is, dupli color greace/wax remover witch is soy based, and i think Rust oleum greese wax remover. I can see in my world better removal of waxes, and Europen compounds polishing oils. That’s good to know! Thanks for the info. I totally understand that some people love to remove the polishing oils because they are concerned about bonding issues or seeing the “true correction” of the paint. But from what I have seen I’m not that concerned. Only because my simple ipa mixture does remove the oils just fine becasue I have tested it with coatings after polishing and using this mixture and the coating preform exactly the same. I think some people get caught up in the whole ipa wipedown thing because they want to feel that they are doing everything they can to ensure that it’s perfect. But in reality it’s a very simple process that doesn’t need to be over thought out and over analyzed. I only say this so that others can see and understand.

Also how come your arm speed is fast?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? Arm speed depends on a lot of factors. There is no one arm speed that I need to maintain. It all depends on how the paint reacts and what polish or compound I’m using. Sometimes I use a slower arm speed other times I can go faster. It all depends. Plus this is a paint enhancement not a correction. So I’m not working the polish as if I would a compound. Is that what you meant?

Miranda Detailing I mean cos your arm speed is faster it not giving it a chance to do much personality I’d go bit slower to get bit more correction

I figured that’s what you meant. But like I mentioned in the previous comment, it all depends on the paint and polish I’m using. I’m not going for correction, I’m going for enhancement. If I was correcting the paint my arm speed will be slower. Remember that each job is different and each person’s technique is different. Thanks.

Miranda Detailing so do you do faster arm speed with this combo all the time then?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Nope. Depending on what I’m working on... some paints are harder, some are softer and depending on how far I need to go will determine what I need to do. So it changes a little with every vehicle and job.
