Paint Protection Film "PPF" Install On 2021 Mercedes-Benz C63s AMG (Last V8)

Today I got my brand new 2021 C63s paint protection film on the entire front end. AS this is the last of its kind and with the unique & special paint color I went with, I really want to preserve the look of the car as best as I can so PPF was something I wanted to have done.

Doing a lot of the same mods as you. PPF to the same areas. Hows the film holding up around your V8 Biturbo badging? Trying to decide if im just going to have new badging applied on top of the PPF instead of having it cutout, since im swapping the chrome out for black anyway.

They cut around it so I don’t have any PPF between the badging. I eventually did a chrome delete and got new badges that are black. End of the day the badges are cheap plastic even from the dealer so if I had the option to redo it I would have just got the car “de-badge” from factory to get PPF & then put them on after.

How is applying a PPF different (or better) than a professionally installed ceramic coat?

PPF is a physical film that goes over your car body. Ceramic coating is a liquid or gel like substance that is applied to the surface to stop debris / water from sticking to the paint. It won’t stop scratches or dings. PPF will stop scratching or chipping from rocks.

@@cexy63s, true. I did not realize that about the PPF. I’m personally not a fan of having a film that is overlaying my C63s coat… but I do love having that ultra hard 9H glass-like protection over the body. We have the same vehicle. Kind of cool.

What do you mean ? The PPF will last 10 years so you can get it re applied every 10 years or after 10 years peel it off & then enjoy the raw paint below for another 10 years like it’s fresh from the factory
