Decal Measurements: lighter- 0.515in x 0.857 in, Jar Lid- 0.772in x 1.286 in, Tray- 4.74 in x 7.68in
(All cut using silhouette cameo 2)

I love everything about this! thanks for sharing your process. that silicone makeup brush would be great for getting the epoxy all over the tray if you didn't want to use your finger. the kind they use to apply epoxy to the glitter tumblers. Those silicone makeup brushes are super helpful!

RayniaTABou what do you sit your trays on after you epoxy them??? Due to the epoxy loving to run it sticks to whatever I lay it on to epoxy it and once I pick it up its stuck and so now I have to peel it off and it chips my paint on the tray or it has extra epoxy spots that’s different than the whole tray.

To adhere smaller things to the trays you can also use something with less tack like scotch tape. Keeps the alignment and doesn't tear the paint away.

Hey, thanks for sharing this tutorial with us. I have a question. When you’re doing a glitter set do you epoxy the bowls and the lid to the container as well? If so how to you set them aside to dry?

amekablackyedwardsae hey there! Thanks for watching! I don’t epoxy the edges. For me that’s just too much hassle. I instead use the krylon triple thick clear coat spray paint before I epoxy the middle of the tray.

Very well put together tutorial. If you need an additional cost of epoxy do you have to sand first for the next coat to adhere?

Thanks so much for watching! I never really put anything in the bowls, I only color the outside. A small sticker in the middle shouldn’t need anything extra on the inside

This video is so helpful! I use the same ashtrays as you and I’ve been having such a hard time epoxying them if I watch correctly you don’t seal your ashtrays and lighters with epoxy? Just mod podge? Do those hold up well?

Hey there! Thanks so much for watching! You are absolutely right! I only sealed them with mod podge! It holds up great, but if you insist on epoxy, all you need is the thinnest layer, like only dip your gloves index finger in the epoxy and rub it really thin, super thin! Hope this helps!

Excellent tutorial. You are a very good teacher. Very easy to understand and you did a bang up job on this tray set! Can’t wait to try it! One question. When you spray the sides of the tray with triple thick, do you tape it off? Or is it ok if there is some over spray on the flat part of the tray? Thank you for your amazing tutorial!! In the beginning I was showing how I cut my vinyl decals for my trays using a silhouette cameo 2... there are several other machines out there but this is the one I have. You have so many options when it comes to decals, u can use stickers, or printouts as well.

Thanks for sharing. Question do u have to spray the tray white before adding the color u want. Im trying to do a gold one and forgot to buy white spray paint and do u have to use the triple glaze as well

Nina Alvarado hey there! Thanks for watching! Just do light even coats of whatever color you want... let dry and repeat, do this as many times as needed for full coverage... you should be fine without the white paint, I feel the white just make the color brighter, and triple glaze is recommended but do what works for you. It’s mainly a trial and error project

Hey there! Thanks for watching! I used Rustoleum brand from Walmart.. dark grey and white... the clear coat is Krylon triple thick clear spray paint.. also from Walmart! Hope this helps!

For the stickers, did you have to layer the Patriots sticker to get your 2 colors or how does that work?

Hey there! Thanks for watching!!! Yes I do layer the decals, in the beginning of the video, you can see how I have the vinyl set up on my cutting mat, cutting out each color separately, once they are cut, I put all of the pieces together!

Question. Can you use Modge Podge on the inside of the tray instead of the epoxy? I have never used expo yet before and have only used Modge Podge maybe once or twice.

LaTonya Mozee hey there!! Thanks for watching!! Using mod podge would not give you the same glass like finish on the bottom of the tray... you will still be able to feel the vinyl which could be an issue for the user, also it wouldn’t last as long. Epoxy is sooo easy to use! Follow the box instructions and you are golden! Hope this helps🤗

Love this video! For your glitter trays, do you prime the tray and sprinkle the glitter directly on the wet paint or do you prime, mod podge, and then glitter?

Val Gardner hey there! Thanks for watching! How many coats depends on the glitter coverage you want. I let each layer dry for about 30 mins to an hour... and you mod podge then glitter, and then mod podge then glitter again, then epoxy! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the video! I noticed you only epoxy the bottom of the tray. Do you have any issues with the spray paint peeling or chipping off the edges where it's not epoxyed?

Another question for you...do you ever make these with glitter? If so, do you apply glitter to everything (like the lighter or ash tray) & if so, do you epoxy those as well? Or do you just do a few coats of glitter sealer? I worry if someone tries to wash their ash tray the glitter will come off without the epoxy.
