Tip on how you can avoid warping/ slow drying your piece: 02:33
Long bone Bead: amzn.to/32vJwWL - India (you get a mixed variety in this so if you get bone beads in stores you can try them instead)
Cotton Twine: I have a used a 2mm cord as that's appropriate for the hole I have around the pendant and earring. If you want it thinner you can opt for a 1 mm cotton twine instead.
Few links to the materials I use. Hope you find them useful.
• CLAY I USE: Laguna red low fire earthen ware clay without grog. (EM106 or EM334 wards)
• Firing (Bisque) at cone 06. (I don't own a kiln, so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there)
• Wire used: Nichrome wire gauge 28 for stick beads and ghungroo beads; gauge 26 for earrings and 24 for pendants.
Gauge 24 (India): amzn.to/2ygy4CJ
Gauge 24 (USA): amzn.to/39xZReS
Gauge 26 (India): amzn.to/33W8w9X
Gauge 26 (USA): amzn.to/3axi8dx
Gauge 28 (India):
Gauge 28 (USA): amzn.to/3azYaPu
• PAINTS: Acrylic paints (BRANDS: Master's touch, folk art , Liquitex and Anitas) - USA
• BRUSHES: 00,2,4,6 sizes round tip synthetic brushes. I also use liner brushes 20/0 to paint finer details ( bit.ly/2ZSL7Ez ) - USA
• VARNISH: amzn.to/3av95tV - USA
bit.ly/2ChWDlj - Matt (India)
bit.ly/3fLfjrd - Glossy (India)
• NEEDLE TOOL: In most pottery tool kits the needle tool is included as part of the kit. (Buying these individually will be expensive)
(India): amzn.to/2WTbKcC
(US): amzn.to/2UNOFpd
• Pottery tool kit with a fettling knife: amzn.to/39wO8NA
• Pottery tool kits that can be used for those starting of (India): amzn.to/3dCUhey
• Fettling knife (India): amzn.to/3dGnZ2j
• Ball tools (India): amzn.to/2WZlBxF
• Silicon tip finishing brushes (India): amzn.to/2JqlC5J
• Wooden modelling tools (India): amzn.to/2UuyZZ1
• Hole cutter (USA): amzn.to/2UHb2MQ
• Fettling knife(USA): amzn.to/33Wu8Tz
• Jhumka or quilling mould (India): amzn.to/3dIWkxx
• x-acto knife (India): amzn.to/2JtofE6
• Adhesive used for studs: E6000 (US) or Araldite (India)

Thank you so much Seetha! Happy to know that you liked the video. Inspiration is everywhere. It's very difficult for me to say there is one particular way to get ideas. But I honestly look at different things around me. I see buildings with interesting carvings. Sometimes religious places with unique designs. Some other crafts like weaving, wood work etc. I draw random designs in a book. Sometimes they work and sometimes they fail.

@nehagopinathpillai
@nehagopinathpillai 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I use a size 20/0 liner brush. Its a soft hair round tip brush and helps with the detailing. You can try looking for miniature brush set. But they are expensive online and come as a set of multiple pieces. I don't think that many would be necessary unless you do a lot of paintings. If you have a stationary store close by you can just buy a single good quality brush. You can try using a 000 brush. That too works really well. I don't use a hard/silicon brush for painting. I use it only for my smoothening my clay work.

Thank you so much Rama Devi. In most cases damages in the kiln are due to two reasons: One is air pockets or bubbles & the next one is moisture content. Also by mistake if some other material gets into your clay like POP etc that too can cause damages.
