• CLAY I USE: Laguna red low fire earthen ware clay without grog. (EM106 or EM334 wards)
• Firing (Bisque) at cone 06. (I don't own a kiln, so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there)
• Wire used: Nichrome wire gauge 28 for stick beads and ghungroo beads; gauge 26 for earrings and 24 for pendants.

Awesome idea. I m just watching now a days. Long time I did not try after those beads series. But my Clay has dried. Is it possible to use it . Or is it just wasted now. Please let me know.

Add water to the clay and leave it to disintegrate. leave it for a few hours or overnight. Doing this in a bucket will help. Once you mix it up resulting in a thick slurry, put it on to a wooden or pop board and let the moisture evaporate a little. Keep a check on it regularly. Once the clay has reached a non sticky stage, you can just roll it up and store it back in a thick plastic bag tightly sealed. Clay never gets wasted.

You might have look at a local pottery studio. Probably check of they have fine low fire earthenware clay. Will also be great if the same studio provides firing facilities.

It is fired. The clay I work with has to be fired before painting.

Slow dry it. Always! The piece being thin (compared to other slab work pendant made) will warp if dried quickly. Cover your work with a sheet of plastic and slow dry your work. Do not dry it in sunlight or under a vent or fan.
