For someone who claims not to be very good at NMM, I'd never have known it. This is a real tour de force for you, sir, and as i like working in 75 mm scale myself? I'll be referring to this one for inspiration in the future, for sure. And hey, is that Sam Witwer AKA Darth Maul as one of your patrons?! Man knows great art when he sees it!

I have been playing around with painting some bust over the past few months. It's such a different feel than the 32mm minis. I'm so glad you did a 75mm model. It turned out awesome! I'm looking forward to trying out the B&W blocking for NMM. I struggle quite a bit with NMM and hope this tip will help my brain figure it out. I really like the footprint over the skull, it really sets the scene. Keep up the great work buddy!

Hello Mark, it is phantastic! Thank You and I hope you will make another 75mm sculpt in future It can be your new series. I know why I´m your patreon 😁 I have a question? Isn´t it faster to make glazing ( different color tonality) as Sergio Calovo with airbrush? It is probably more effective and faster in such scale. Try it next time for us please 😉

I thought my NMM was getting alright, but you've given me a lot to think about. I can never understand where to put the smaller/more subtle reflections and shadows, only ever focusing on the big details.
@Sorastro
@Sorastro Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Some painters approach NMM in quite an analytical way, whilst some work very intuitively. I'm still finding my way really, but I'm somewhere in-between I guess. I can tell you that I find looking at (and taking) photos of actual metal/armour etc helps get a feel for the kinds of shapes we see formed by the shadows, reflections etc.. 😀

Do scale colour paints make nmm easier? I tend to struggle with vallejo and citadel, these look like they go on a lot more opaque?
@Sorastro

Hi! I personally love using the Scalecolor Artist paints for NMM work; they can be used very dense and opaque, but also thin down beautifully. I also like the matte (but not ultra matte) finish. 🙂
