Күн бұрынFollow me as I show you a Bighorn Sheep Painting from start to finish in this short video. As this oil painting evolved I felt a theme emerging that correlated the gathering storm to the challenges we face in our own lives. I viewed the ram as the symbol of strength to overcome those challenges. It is extremely fulfilling when a painting presents something new to me that wasn't there in the beginning.

With what did you thin or modify your paints. Very nice. I'm going now to look for your website.

Hey Jerry, I keep my initial layer really thin by using only OMS and a very lean pigment like raw sienna. Subsequent layers I use an alkyd medium by Gamblin. I don’t use any kind of medium for the final highlights and glazes. Hope this was helpful! 😊
