Great stuff as always dude! I really like the GW washes. They have good coverage and they come in a wide range of colors. I find that the paint method GW advocates (base+wash+highlights) has really helped a lot of painters enter the hobby by showing that it's not THAT difficult to paint a decent model.

Any reason for using GW washes instead or the usual Army painter?

Have you tried zeinthal priming? You would be able to keep the mouths black.

For color theory, is an orange always a red highlight?

You have to paint the inside of the mouth before you add the face.
