In this overview video, I delve into the intricacies of painting Warhammer 40K miniatures with a focus on efficient yet high-quality techniques. The primary subject is the meticulous painting of a yellow Space Marine, a process that I've honed for both speed and effectiveness.
To keep things looking consistent, I use this simple approach for my large army-sized projects.
If I'm focused, I can finish 10 space marines in about 2-3 hours using the process I show you in the video.
Here are the basic steps:
1. Prime the Model: Start with a white or light gray primer for a solid base.
2. Base Coat: Use a large synthetic brush for a quick, even base coat with a dabbing motion.
3. Highlighting and Detailing: Highlight with Cyber Yellow from Green Stuff World using dry brushing.
4. Edge Highlighting and Detail Painting: Employ a pointed round brush for fine details and edge highlighting.
5. Applying Contrast Colors and Washes: Use Citadel Contrast colors and washes for quick textures and depth.
6. Decal Application: Apply and smooth decals with decal solution for a seamless finish.
7. Final Touches: Use watercolors (or other pigments, optional) for weathering effects and apply a protective varnish
