£1000 sprayer and other equipment needs to be paid for. Knowledge is accumulated to know the best way to do something. If that’s all you get to do in a day £750 isn’t bad for costs etc.

Thank you for replying and yes bank holidays are great for jobs haha. I actually have a sprayer but thought the paint would be too thick to pass through it but all I needed to do is dilute it. I'm using the same paint you did. Hopefully it'll work. What percentage did you dilute?

I wish I watched this before. As I just finished a unit doing breeze blocks by hand. Hard work!. I have gx21 didn't think it would push trough masonry paint being so thick. How much would you thin down trade masonry. As retail is a lot more thinner. Great stuff phil. Not sure about a dream car. But your due a MBE 🤣
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
This was bron B&Q. It's about 20% But more a case of thin enough to get through the machine. The gx21 has the bigger hose so would be ok.

What paint to use on a new plastered ceiling in a garage with no heating. Emulsion or masonry?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 8 ай бұрын
It won't matter. Just thin the first coat down so it soaks in well. It's not as if it's being exposed to weather.

Thanks for sharing your advice on spraying a customer’s garage, it should help me out as I should have a job coming soon spraying a garage. The question you have already answered to someone in your video suggested 70 litres of paint, is that correct? Does that price include painting the floor afterwards or just the walls? Ps keep the videos coming good job 👍🏻
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 3 жыл бұрын
7 tens, but there was nearly a good tin left over. The key is to get enough paint on The floor is being covered by the customer using those gym matting floor cushion tiles.

Great video. Does painting breezeblock in a garage cause moisture issues? Are there any breathable paints available?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
it's water based so will be breathable. as long as there's no damp, it will stay on. if you have some damp on walls, look at using Dulux All Seasons oil based masonry (other brands do similar) as that will allow walls to let moisture through too.

What ratio of paint to water are you thinning the paint for spraying? Looks class!!
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, it's a yes or a no. with airless you can spray straight out the tub, but when it's fresh new block work you may want to give the paint a mix up, if it feels really thick (some trade paints are, hence need thinning slightly). So on new, you may want to add 10-20/25% clean water to allow it to sock in. Then thicken it up for subsequent coats to then get the build up. Remember.... with airless it will come down to the spray till size (and the correct filter). The larger the spray tip orifice.... the more paint will get through, or the ticker the paint it will allow through. With Masonry (smooth, not textured) look at .19 and larger (.21 or .23) Ie: 519 or 521, or if you need wider fan 619 or 621 Check with the machine you've got to see what the max size tip the machine. I know my GXff is a max .19 orifice size. BUT if I had the same machine in the GX21 set up that will allow a .21 size tip. (that's down to the hose being different on the GXff and the GX21.. even though they are the same machine). Does all that make sense? If not, just say. Have you watched the videos I've done about spray TIPS?

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator That all sounds good to me! I don’t have a professional sprayer right now, I just have a 50L compressor with a basic gravity fed paint sprayer. Would that work? I was looking at the black and decker paint sprayer. This is just for my personal garage and i’m not a tradesman so don’t really need to buy top expensive gear if you get me, but just trying to get an idea to make it easier for myself when I get round to it haha. I can’t say I have, but I will definitely go and give them a watch now! 👌🏻 Thanks for the advice 😄

@@djroodster That set up you have you'll find hard work and won't do what you want, that's geared up to spraying woodwork and kitchens etc.. Get yourself down to Lidl now!! they have a Parkside airless sprayer that would be ideal for you to start with.. £129!!!!!! think the offer starts this week. Have a watch of some of the other videos, they'll be of help.

How many litres of paint for full coverage using this method?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 3 жыл бұрын
7x ten litre tube used of the Sandtex. If you wanted cheaper paint you could do, whether it's as good as a masonry paint like Sandtex... That's the question.

Hi Phil, why can’t the spray gun do the job without running round it twice with a roller also? Could of just given it 3 solid roller fulls? I’m only really asking because I’m considering dishing out 1,500£ for a sprayer but they can’t do this job on its own?
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Жыл бұрын
With new open holed breeze block, the sprayer loads the paint on easily... And the roller pushes it in. Just doing it by roller is really hard work. Having the paint already sitting on the surface makes a world of difference. Fully painted walls isn't really a problem once the hard work has been done.

Hi. I don't have a spray, but I have just built a small above ground wall for my pond. Can I just use a roller/paint brush? It's just for one side & the front, not much front showing as it has a window in it. Thanks

@ProfessionalPainterDecorator
@ProfessionalPainterDecorator 2 жыл бұрын
@@jimmychooquay the gx21 has the longer hose and can take up to a .21 spray tip. Spraying render on a house I may look at using a .19 tip. The gxff can only go to a .19 With it having a shorter thinner hose. I was pushing mine doing the breeze block, I couldn't get enough power to reduce tails, without thinning too much as masonry paint is quite thick.
