Is that white ground similar to the D.S.. white watercolor ground? It seems a bit less textury. These are so charming!

Yes, it’s the same idea! Any watercolour ground would work. 😊

I have supplies, but not the "ground ",,,will the gesso be enough? I need to try this!

For watercolour it would be tricky without the ground. Gesso is quite slippery and I’m not sure it would adhere. You could certainly give it a try, but I think it would be difficult to get the paint to stick. The ground helps with absorbency.
