I can't believe you posted a video! After I've had the flu I need a week after recovery to get over the fact that a virus had the audacity to invade my body 🤣. I bet the cats loved you being bed-bound after being away for so long. My cats absolutely loved it when my husband and I had covid at the same time. The gloaming is always a magical part of day, but in autumn it's X1000. When you live far north or far south the autumnal light has a mystical glow that makes you feel like you've been transported to a magical realm where life occurs on the fringes of the long shadows.

I just spent a week in glen nevis hiking and painting autumn (with 2 of my strada easles 😁 I love my strada family ) love this time of year for just completely immersing in colour.

Gorgeous studio setup so far!! I have always loved your overhead scenery & have wonder why you haven’t painted some of them. Some are very complex scenes which is understandable to not paint, but could be simplified. I love the River scenery you painted & the painting of the waterfall for the cover art for the brushes looks beautiful & yes gives lots of techniques to use the brushes in the set. Yes! The "pinkish-orange" glow near sunset at midlatitudes (at about 45º north latitude here) seems to cover everything and fill the air! Just had a demonstration here a couple days ago. I was /am trying to figure out how to paint it in watercolors. I made an easel for watercolor painting in the field for myself decades ago very similar to the 'Strada pad and tripod tray" using a thin sheet of plywood, a camera tripod mount and tripod plus various improvised attachments for the pallet and water containers. Had the 'Strada' been available I would have surely bought it. Thanks so much for your thoughtful and interesting cogitations on being a working artist and all that that entails. We artists often isolate ourselves too much striving to express our 'vision' and loose contact with the very audience we want to show it to. If that makes any sense. I appreciate very much your various demonstrations of field sketching techniques, explanations and difficulties. We need to learn from each other more.

Autumn sunrises the absolute best here on Canada’s west coast. I see them from my kitchen window and plan to set up easel (a la Lena Rivo) so I can try to capture them when I’m up super early :). Love watching your videos Sarah.

The cover art is beautiful! Looking forward to their release. It is so cute that your kitties go on walks with you, our “Sam” was an indoor cat and only ventured outside to the deck where she couldn’t access the yard. She was very skittish and we worried she’d run into the woods and there are too many foxes/wildlife that might have harmed her (she found lots of sunbeams on the floor, loved the windowsills by open windows and had her own huge, fluffy chair that nobody was allowed to sit on, so she enjoyed her pampered life inside lol). Our daylight hours are somewhat close at the moment, tonight’s sunset is around 6:30pm. Finally, I cannot believe you fit that easel into your suitcase!! It looks like a fabulous setup for you, glad you were able to make that investment and bring it home!

When it's October, but your To Do board still says August/September. Uh oh! :D Happy to see some new videos and to hear you're feeling better.

I wonder if you can give us just a bit of info about your new brushes….I like a bit of a ‘stiffer’ brush for watercolor, as I dry brush quite a bit, and I love a very fine point round. Sarah try to get to Hawaii for the sunsets. I lived on the Big Island and every night people would acknowledge the sunsets either on the beach or at home with thanks and gratitude with a bunch of like minded people.

Where did you find that tilted brush rack? That is brilliant!

Brushes by Sarah ... YAY! Are these specifically for gouache? I keep my watercolor and gouache brushes separate. I don't know if it's really necessary. I'm quite the novice. I just know that I am rougher with my gouache brushes.
