In this video I use Eastwood's Optiflow 2K Roll On Primer on my 1965 Ford Mustang. I also install 3-point seatbelts as well.

Glad you posted the seat belt installation! Need to order a set before we start putting the interior together.

That roll on primer is interesting. I hope it works out. Back in the 90s I was in engineering school. I won a $1000 Chrysler essay scholarship that asked what was the one thing I would change on my favorite car. I said I would add 3 point seat belts to my 68 Mustang. Cool to see you make that safety enhancement.

I just binge watched all your videos in two days. Well done, sir. 👏 You’ve completely triggered my hyper fixation. A classic mustang will be mine. 😈 Knowing what you know now, what would be your best advice when buying a classic Mustang?

Thank you so much for watching all of my videos! I really appreciate the support! When I do it again, I think buying a running and driving project is the way to go. All of the aesthetic stuff is the easy part, it's the mechanical that's really tough. So if you can find a solid car that's running and driving for a decent price, that would be the way to go. You just have to make sure that it has good bones/structurally sound. Also if you're just wanting a weekend cruiser and don't care that much about performance, then maybe look for a 6 cylinder, b/c they tend to be a little cheaper and those motors are built like a tank.

@@VanHoutenBuilds great advice. I imagine it’d be fun to drive the thing around while taking your time on the cosmetic stuff. I’ve been shocked you haven’t taken yours out yet in the videos. You’ve been sneaking joy rides these last few weeks, right? Anyway, great job on the channel, man. You’ve got the perfect balance of narration and interesting footage. I was genuinely bummed when I discovered this restore is happening right now and I finished all the vids. Please keep it up. You’ll wreck me if you don’t keep posting!

@@cjforse22 I wish I was sneaking joyrides haha. Soon, soon! Yeah I'm definitely still filming more videos for it right now, had to take a week off b/c I hurt my neck, but I'm on the mend, so I'll be dropping another video soon!

Awesome man! Splotching on right side of your hood is likely due to some sort of oil or wax based on the way it reacted around those spots. You can sand the primer after a few days and then hit it really good with a paint prep that removes oil/wax. Oreilly's has one a spray can that I've used that works pretty well. You're WAY ahead of me but I'm doing some primer and spray on a few parts. Look forward to more my friend!

@@felixhofbauer3061 Woah that's crazy! Yeah camaro's drive a higher price here. You can find a firebird for a little cheaper. Mustang's are so plentiful here that the price is a bit lower, but they have been steadily going up in price lately.

couple of throw back questions (to previous videos) but easier to just ask here together then going back to each one. where did you get the vacuum extension you used to get in the cowl to clean it out? does it have a specific name? which radiator did you end up going with?
@VanHoutenBuilds
@VanHoutenBuilds 2 ай бұрын
I got the vacuum extension from ACE hardware. It's a Milwaukee brand vacuum extension kit. I went with a 3 core Champion radiator www.championradiators.com/Ford-Mustang-V8-conversion-radiator-64-66
