Hello friends and strangers!
Losing a leg sometimes makes me feel like I'm a car or a robot - which don't get me wrong, is still super cool. But sometimes I do like feeling a little girly. I found a way to allow me to do that with my prosthetic!
In this video, I show you how I paint my prosthetic foot with glue on toenails, which I think look a lot better than just painting on the rubber.

MY STORY
After enlisting in the Unite States Marine Corps, I experienced excruciating foot pain for 9 months before finally being diagnosed with an Intramuscular Arteriovenous Malformation in my foot. 14 months of limb salvage and I begged my doctors to amputate. I have my right leg amputated below the knee in 2019 and now I am living my best life and showing it here for the world to see that despite trauma and distress, you can live great lives.

I saw you on the ad for Tabitha clothing line. I cried tears of joy to see you representing us. Thank you for this post because I was thinking how to do the toe nails. I'm a new amputee and finally got a foot shell that matches skin tone.

Nice to see you on KZfaq again Annika! Instagram just isn't the same. Anyway, I enjoy your content both here and on Instagram! I think you are about the only one I'll watch painting toenails for five minutes and enjoy it 😀. Hope you are doing well on the west coast. Greetings from Norway!

@@AnnikatheAmputee Just remember that you are loved by your audience, so whenever you feel a glimmer of inspiration, grab it and run with it 😁. But don't feel that you have to make videos. There are more content on youtube than anybody can watch. It's just that you are a charming well-spoken young lady with a fairly interesting life, so whenever you release a video it is appreciated.

Ok funny story, I painted my meat foot to match my fingernails. Then we went to have family pictures taken a few days later BAREFOOT! I totally forgot about my prosthesis. Now I have expensive canvas photos on my wall with 3/4 nails painted.

In case it is useful to you, there is something called "kicker" that can be used on super glue -- it's basically an accelerant. You should be able to easily find it on Amazon or at most craft supply stores. Adam Savage (on KZfaq) has good tips for using different types of super glue, and frequently uses kicker on the things he is constructing.
