Hi Lena! I'm a fan of your paintings! I hope this year I can finally buy myself a set of gouache paint (perhaps, by mid 2021), and that curiosity of using a new medium is in part due to your influence, so thanks, I'm pretty sure I will love working with them.

Such a very beautiful result for an extraordinarily difficult subject! I once spent a week painting at a location on Vancouver Island very similar to this scene. I wasn't happy with my work and got so confused trying see pattern and shape in the constantly moving waves. Maybe I should try again from a photo since travel is out of the question right now.

Thank you! Yes, painting waves from photos or from video screens is a good practice. When painting waves on location you need to decide on the wave pattern at the beginning and do not change it much while working on the painting. It’s difficult for me too, but with practice you learn the structure of the waves and it becomes easier :)
