Honestly I think it's not too classy for anyone to show too much affection to each other in public places where there are other people. It's not a nice sight to for example see someone making out too passionately. Makes one uncomfortable. Holding hands and hugging, a humble peck is fine.

I am very sorry for certain people from the country I was born in. I also wonder how many people in fact saw homosexual couples on the streets "making love in public", as I didn't encounter such thing any single time in my 23 years of being in Poland. Great to see some people being positive about homosexuality, but it is still not enough, not to mention the people in charge having their negative opinion being heard by all the people around.

I am Polish and I am aware of the close-mindedness of Poland, mostly the older generations. But I want to tell you there is hope! I finished high school in 2018 and we have a tradition in Poland to dance the traditional polish dance "polonez" on our prom. Our high school in Katowice was totally fine with homosexual couples dancing together although traditionally this is a dance for man-women pairs. Nobody had any problem or even any questions. I think for my generation it is really normal, we are tolerant, open-minded and very sad that our government and the older generations are not the same :(

I once dated a polish person (we're both guys, so it was really really gay) it was the saddest thing that we had to keep everything hidden when in Poland while in Finland we were able to live and act like all other couples do. He is dead now 💔

It must be a very difficult culture for the LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 but there is always hope. My culture, Spain 🇪🇸, used to be very homophobic while I grew up, today it is considered one of the most tolerant and embracing of its LGBT citizens in the whole world.

I'm a Polish person and yes, this is so sad that my country is so homophobic. They even make areas that LGBTQ must not go there, such as "Podkarpackie". I support everyone. I have my best friend who is gay and I love him so much. I know him for 4 years and he is the best person I ever met in my life.

Interestingly, this is purely based on the looks and clothes and the locations where the interviews were conducted, people who (apparently) have higher status and more educated are more open to the idea of homosexuality.

I'm polish but living abroad. I've got a strong reputation of a chauvinistic polish patriot among people who knows me. And then I'm bi. And I assume totally. This people have to deal with it. My parents have absolutely no problem with it.

I can get where some people are coming from with don't show TOO much affection in public - but that applies to straight couples too. You should be able to hug, hold hands and kiss your partner in public - just not too 'aggressively', just in case there are children around. But I don't see why these types of etiquette rules should be stricter for different sexualities - being gay isn't inappropriate because it's usually just consensual relationship between two adults. Why should that bother anyone else?

This video was really a surprise to me when almost 100% of the population are members of the Catholic church, and poles are also known about they’re strongly believers of the doctrines of the Catholic church. We can honestly say that the catholic religion has exactly the same role in the polish society as Islam in the Middle East. 🇵🇱✝️⛪️🙏

My friend made it to the local news by adding rainbow to our city's crest. They made it out of solidarity for a guy who did it first because he lives in a "lgbt free zone". The mayor of his town said that he's gonna have problems with the police and end up in a correctional facility (he's 16). I'm from Wodzisław Śląski.

Some of these people were acrually surprisingly nice about it, quite a relief. Sad to hear about the gay man who married a woman. The hatred for gay people messed up not just that man's life but also of the (presumably) straight woman he married. No winners here.

Yes, yes, Poland now has LGBTQ-FREE parishes. The head of the Polish ruling party PiS declares homosexuals and transgender people to be enemies of the state. A government-friendly newspaper distributes stickers with crossed out rainbow flags. 30 municipalities declare themselves a "LGBT-free zone". What a divine blessing for the oh so catholic country. The following occurs to me. Wherever religions, right-wing and ultra-right parties are involved, homophobia is experiencing a strong upswing. What I absolutely cannot understand is the fact. Although Poland is with the EU and the EU does nothing against such activities. Poland is leveraging the judiciary, Poland is trampling on human rights, and the EU is standing by. To be honest, you have to come to the opinion that the EU is a completely toothless institution. Another very anti-human rights state is Hungary and some other EU member states. It is time for the EU to endeavor to respect human rights within the EU. Ja, ja, Polen hat jetzt LGBTQ-FREI Gemeinden. Der Chef der polnischen Regierungspartei PiS erklärt Homosexuelle und Transgender-Personen zu Staatsfeinden. I'm a lesbian and I live in Poland. Honestly at this point we are in worse state than in Russia, and this video only proves it. You don't even realise how many times I, and other LGBT people I know have faced violence, contempt, and hatred in this country. If it wasn't for my family IDK what would have happened with me, and it hurts that some people doesn't have that kind of support (for example my friend's parents completely cut off ties with her when she was only 17, after finding out about her orientation. She tried to kill herself 3 times). Even tho I appreciate my country for its history, and strenght, I hate what it has became, and I wanna move out as far as I possibly can from this shithole.
