Jason and his son Jayden go solo camping and offroading to the iconic Bendleby Ranges (Flinders Ranges), South Australia. Recently completing a SUBFRAME drop kit install and 35 inch tyres on the Pajero.
This video demonstrates the reason why we go through lengths to upgrade our 4WDs. Its all about Traction and clearance in often unforgiving terrain like the Flinders Ranges.
Stay tuned as more trips and more Pajero mods are on the list this year!

You can put massive tyres on these things despite what the haters say. Chucked on patrol rims with some rare 34 inch tyres about 10 years ago and have had zero suspension problems. Had to def cut away a bit of the plastic. However car now doesn't like going faster than 80. You can literally see the fuel needle moving in real time over 100kph but they're tough as anything

You can definitely tell she struggles a bit with those 35s. Torque must almost be halved with those! Extra clearance seems nice though. Probably would've been alright with 33s and a two inch lift?
@trickster8635
@trickster8635 Жыл бұрын
I didn't see any terrain that you could not have driven with 33's. Instead, going to 35's has made the little Paj work so much harder to turn those big wheels. You have compromised your gearing and so when climbing you are on the torque convertor all of the time, generating unnecessary heat into the transmission. On the down hill, you are on the brakes all of the time to stop it running away, again the gearing is now too high, even in low-range. The upward suspension travel is limited before the tyres touch the guards, and that is before you put any weight in the little truck. All for what? Increased fuel consumption, driveline stress and heavier unsprung weight, and nothing that a better set up Paj couldn't do with 33's and 7 inch rims for clearance. IMHO, you have ruined the car.
